YAY! I'm now officially excited- I'll be on the lookout for your location update :)
Just to let you know- the reason we chose Jamaica is because there is no blood test required and we don't need to be there 3+ days in advance (like mexico) We are going to arrive a few days early in Jamaica, but legally you only have to be there 48 hours in advance

Don't know if that helps, but I tried. congratulations.
There are plenty of options off of the beach- I don't want a "barefood" sandy wedding on the beach, so I am getting married in a Gazebo overlooking the beach. The resort where I'm staying also has a gazebo and wedding location that is set in the "gardens" of the resort. From what I hear, the gardens of Sandals Grand Ocho Rios has a hawaii essence to them...

Hi there,

We are getting married Feb 2010 at the Grand Palladium Resort, Puerto Adventuras. We are just waiting on pricing for whether to stay at the Katenah or White Sands section. We are excited for the beach & ocean to play at as well as the only time to have all our family & friends on a wicked vacation all together!!

The Grand Palladium seems to be the best for our group, adults & a few kids. There will be around 30 of us for sure, most going for 2 weeks.

Does anyone know about booking your own sail boat or catameran for the wedding guests/party?

Carly

Hi 2010 Brides,

Glad to see this thread was started!! Im in the early planning stages also, just waiting on pricing. I didnt know you dont have to get blood tests done in Jamaica...now an option. I do still have my heart set on Los Cabos but will stay open minded for the best possible location for the best price. Im a Canadian bride, we are looking to get married in Feb/March 2010. Any advice would be amazing.

So far, ive started my wedding website, STD's are out (with year only...lol) and guess list is made. I've almost narrowed down a dress...i will probably decide on one by the end of the month. Bachelorette party is booked. Now waiting for pricing!!

Let me know if you guys have finished anything else and when you get your pricing!

Shelly

Thanks for the information its all good to know! I was giving Mexico some thought because all the pictures I have seen from other brides are beautiful. The location of majority of the shots were beautiful! But I understand the blood test issue! I also saw another bride on here who had an off the beach gazebo wedding in Mexico and it was exactly what I want, but the resort wasnt an AI and I think Id rather do an AI resort for my guest!

Hey everyone! I'm having a wedding in at Dreams Cancun in June 2010! It's absolutely beautiful there. I stayed there two years ago and when I went back to Cancun in December I stayed at Riu, and ended up making my fiance walk with me to look at Dreams like everyday! How is everyone doing? I'm already a wreck and no one is taking me seriously because they're all like "you have so much time!" Am I the only crazy one here?

Hi there Michelle!
You are DEFINITELY not the only crazy one... In fact, you're not crazy at all I don't think!! Who'd have known a destination wedding could be stressful? I am just trying to pick our resort currently and it's hard!!! My FI are in love with the Barcelo Maya Palace, but I'm starting to think it might be too pricy for our guests... sad.gif It's such a let down and it's hard for us to love any other resort as much as that one.... sigh.. guess we'll just have to see what happens.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
