Prices for ROR

Recommended Posts

Marie, I think that is a pretty good price. I have been waiting and waiting to book my group rate, problem I am having is getting a commitment for enough to have a group. Its so frustrating. All my side is aware of the wedding, but FI boy thats a long story, he is finally getting around to getting the divorce (they have been legally seperated for years, but they are both cheap and not wanting to put the money out, finally his ex is ready lol). So none of his side other than a few of his friends even know there is a wedding.

Some days I just want to scream. Also the prices for Dec 2010 have not been released as of yet. I am hoping to be able to book something in the fall.

Hi Sunstarmoon,

I dont think its a "bad" price, considering I priced a lot of resorts, and they were UITE pricey---problem is, we all have to pay airafare from st. johns to and from toronto...where the group rates starts....so thats an additional 4 or 500 on there........Back in Jan we had a quote of 1800 per person, but didnt have enough people ready to book (we need 10 to start the group).....3 moths later we were ready--and the taxes or osmething went up--so we're paying 100 more......its a hit or miss when it comes to booking early, or late.....

Hey Ladies,

We're paying $1670 (CAD) taxes included for Junior Suites (double occupancy) from Toronto to ROR for Nov. 21-28/09. There are also tons of other bonuses if you book with Sunquest. One example is that every 11th person goes free...so we will be dividing this "free trip" between our guests. They will get ~$150 credited to their accounts. So the trip will end up costing ~$1520 per person for the Junior Suite. We thought this was a really good deal.

I would suggest asking a few agents for quotes because we were originally quoted various prices for the same trip.

Good luck planning!

I'm not from Canada but my wedding is June 11, 2009. We are there from June 7-14. We have 60 guests and did not book any group rates because our TA told us that it would be cheaper if we booked it flight and room separately at the time. Our total is $1000 pp for one week for a regular room. It originally was $1500 pp but it went down because of the flight and what the travel agent could negotiate. Even though we booked our rooms and flight separately we still are all inclusive... the only bad thing is that we don't get any special group rates like one free for every 10 rooms.. but even without that it is cheaper.

It seems that most of you ladies are from the east coast. Most of my guests are coming from the west (Vancouver and Edmonton) and I am having a hell of a time just trying to get the inital 10 to get the group rate. The main reason that I am using a TA is for the payment plans they offer but I am hearing, even from my immediate family , that most of my guests are just going to book through an online site, which are a alot cheaper. This is somewhat frustrating to me since we need to book our flight to obtain the confirmation code for the date and time of our wedding!! If worse came to worse I guess my FI and I will just book our trip to secure our wedding date. I would even opt to book online but the prices for our dates aren't out yet! Arrghhhh!!

We are going through flight center and I think the tour company is sunquest and here are the prices I was quoted a couple months ago.

misstrae76 - I think from where you are flying out of I think that price is pretty fair. I was hoping to confirm my wedding date with just a room booked. We diffently have to have flight as wellhuh.gif

I am also having a heck of time getting enough for a group. Its so frustrating, but what can we do :).

Good morning all,

We are a group of 26 flying from Ottawa in Januray 2010.

Our quote is: 1645/pp tax incl. for junior suites

and 1450.00 tax incl. for standard room.

The only thing is that in the deluxe wing, children from 2 to 12 years old, have to pay 1379.00 tax incl. very pricy for parents with children.

Children from 2-12 years old are not paying in standard rooms if they are with two adults. (they only play there flight) I thought it might be good to know for some of you who are planning a wedding at ROR...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
