Elainak, can i ask how many people attended your wedding?

I am considering getting married at the Riu Palace and i love the idea of having the dinner and dancing on the beach.

Did you request to have one long table or is that the set up for weddings on the beach?

Also, how big was your dancefloor? I'm curious about your set up.

I am going to rent the disco for between dinner and the nightclub opening. I asked about a private dinner and dance at the Santa Fe but unless you rent a ballroom your SOL.

I just want somewhere private to go after dinner for us to have our first dance and things like that without other people being there! Plus, it is only $500! A friend of mine got married in the Mayan Rivieria and it cost her $2500 for a DJ and bar by the pool, bargain!

This wedding had 41 people all together. The bride had specifically requested one long table instead of a couple small ones, and it turned out beautifully. The dancefloor was a little iffy. They take a few sheets of plywood and screw them together into a square on the sand. A bunch of people danced on the beach in the sand, and most danced on the wood barefooted (no splinters thank god:) )

I have a picture here of the table, but it isn't uploading.... hmmm...
If you would like to see a picture, pm me and I can try and email it to you.

Hi All,

We rented the disco and I thought it was perfect. We did all of our speeches during supper between courses and prior to supper coming and then by the end there were only a couple left. After that we got everyone to the disco and made a grand entrance as Mr and Mrs - had our first dance, danced with our parents and bridal party and then just partied. I thought it was super having it all to ourselves - it seemed like everyone relaxed more and it wasn't such a 'nightclub' scence when it was just people you knew. Even my parents had a great time and let's be realistic that they would not have gone to a 'nightclub' anywhere else right? Honestly I thought it was worth the $500 to have it all to ourselves - it seriously made everyone more relaxed if you aske me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
