Any Cruise Brides Doing TTD?

Okay so I had never even heard of a TTD (trash the dress) shoot until getting on this forum. Now I feel like this is something I should be doing! We're on such a tight budget ($10000 for EVERYTHING) that we aren't doing an engagement shoot, and I doubt we're going to get a lot of the posed photos from the ship photographer (they're so expensive and I'm not a fan of the posed ship photos in the first place).

So now I'm thinking I want to at least see how much it would be to do a TTD while in port at Cozumel.

Are any other cruise brides doing a TTD?

Or any other brides know a good photographer in Cozumel?

I was thinking of doing one too after seeing some really awesome pics. I went to David's Bridal yesterday to see what they had in their $99 dress sale but I wasn't in love with any of them and now I'm not sure if it is worth the extra expense, but they look so fun and it would a great keepsake.. too hard to decide!

It really does seem like a big expense, but everyone's pictures look so good! I was going to check out Ebay for something worth trashing.

But I don't even have my regular dress picked out yet so I guess I'll see how much I end up spending on that.

I love this forum but sometimes I think it just makes me want to spend more money on things I never would have thought of before!

OMG Kimber I soo agree with you. My FI was cracking up bc our budget has blossomed an extra $2000 since I joined BDW. LOL I love it hahaha.

Regarding the TTD I want to do it but like Kimber and Megan said I'll only do it if I can find a cheap cheap dress and I mean under $100 cheap. I mean my gown is only $700. I want to pay like 10% of that for a TTD dress.

My Bridal consultant asked me if I was doing TTD with my dress!!!!!!! I'm like you gotta be kidding me. I'm not walking around all day in a wet dress lol.

check the buy sell and trade forum on here, craigslist, and the knot has a forum where they sell stuff but i can't remember what it is called... Craigslist is funny because it is either dresses that are from the 80s with big puffy long sleeves or nice newer ones from brides whose weddings or marriages didn't work out so they just want to get rid of it, so very hit or miss but worth looking at every now and than

I really want to do a TTD shoot too. But like prettyhazardous said, "who wants to walk around all day in a wet dress". Our wedding port is the second stop, so if we do it, I think I'll do it at our last port. (That's assuming we'll be bringing our own photog, which I really am hoping for). And, I'll just use my dress...I've heard from close friends, the dresses come out pretty clean wink.gif

OMG I am the same way my mom maaaaaaaaaaaade me try on a veil and as soon as she did I'm like I'm don't like this one I want that one (I was pointing to one that another bride had on) and I treid it and loved it. And since then I've wanted one haha. So I'm wearing one for my ceremony and pictures but that's it. I think it'll be great since we're having a reliously sacred ceremony. My pastor is marrying us and I'm adding ssacred elements to the ceremony as well as possibly having communion. It'll be a big deal for us be my FI and I have never taking communion together because he's a musician at our church so we're never able to sit together. Ok I'm sooo long winded I'll go now.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
