That's exactly why we decided to go to a different resort for our honeymoon. It's so close we can take a taxi there, but at least we won't have to see our peeps hanging out while we're trying to be gaggingly romantic in public areas. How big is Dreams Tulum? Is it big enough that you probably won't see much of them?

"it aint like you all arent sleeping together now" I couldn't believe it.. "Seriously J, you are taking this thing completely out of line.. There is no way I coming down there just for three days!". I was fuming mad.. I just couldn't believe I heard these words come out of here mouth. I immediatelyh called my father, as he is the one who is telling people about. I asked him why are they so concerd with coming to the wedding.. they dont speak to me, when they do, its to verify my salary as if I need to lie about my paycheck (i had just graduated at this time), or when you see me.. you turn your face up to me.. His response was, its just like best friends, you dont have to speak everyday to still be friends.. WTF!.... I couldn't stand to stay on the phone.. Sorry girls.. but i had to vent
If you don't speak to them tell them they aren't invited!! Don't invite people you don't like or even speak to I wouldn't and haven't lol

I look at the whole thing this way any how; we are going to be newlyweds. EVERYone has to come in knowing that. Therefore, we aren't making excuses or trying to be subtle when we want to set off on our own during the trip. MOST people with any sense will already know we don't want to be "under" them while we're there, before or after, but we're going to switch resorts to be on the safe side for the last four nights of the trip. Still, before the wedding, or in the two nights we'll have with everyone after, if we don't feel like being bothered, we simply won't. People have to understand....if they don't, that's definitely not your fault.

          Hey Royal Lady,

Sounds like a sticky predicament, my FI and I had a similar issue-- but it was distant friends as opposed to distant relatives. We just reiterated how important it was for us to keep things small, and then extended an invite to the AHR.
For the most part, people are quite understanding. Besides, if you haven't spoken with them in three years, they'd be silly to think they'd be welcome-- especially for an extended time at the resort for your special weeks away.
