Spider Veins

Hello Ladies,

So yestersday I had Sclerotherphy for my spider veins. I inheritated this from my mom and started to notice them when I was pregnant with my son. They weren't bad but I noticed them, I have very fair skin so everything shows. I also wanted nice looking legs for my DW.

Basically my dermotologist injected the unwanted veins with a sclerosing solution which causes the target vein to immediately shrink, and then dissolve over a period of weeks as the body naturally absorbs the treated vein. I'm not going to lie it was uncomfortable. After the injection it feels like a bad leg cramp.

Wanted to see if anyone else has had this done? What was the outcome?

This is something that makes me so angry. I am 25 and have never been pregnant, or even overweight and I have these all over my legs...well at least it seems like it. I try so hard to stay in shape, yet in the summer, I barely wear shorts or skirts because of these things.

I just had sclerotherapy tested on me recently. The doctor injected a few just to make sure it would work on me (free of charge) and I am scheduled to go back in a month to do the full procedure. The whole thing is going to cost me about $250. I have them behind both of my knees, and some on my outer thighs. I hate them.

It was definitely uncomfortable. I think the worst part for me, though, is the tape they put on afterward. If you go, get some spanx to put on to keep pressure on the areas so they don't have to put the tape on. I will definitely be taking a pair when I get the full procedure done.

Good luck ladies!

the entire procedure as about 10 minutes. The cramping only lasted a few minutes and it goes away. Afterwards my legs were fine but I had to keep them elevated. I had about 11 injections on my right leg and three on my left leg. For me the little veins hurt the most and the big ones weren't as bad.

After the injections they use cotton and tape to stop any bleeding (it's not bad, like a prick). Then they wrap your legs in this tape which is like an ace bandage but sticky and itchy. I have VERY sensitive skin so this might have been part of the problem. I ripped it off last in the middle of the night because it drove me crazy.

So today I'm going to go some spanx (thanks for the tip Katyko). Good Luck

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
