Alex climbed out of his crib!!!

So my little guy is already 20 months old - and yesterday I lay him down for a nap, go downstairs and all of a sudden I hear a loud thud! I RACED up the stairs and there he is sitting on the floor of his bedroom playing with his toys! Like nothing even happened! He is a monkey!! So now what? He obviously can't sleep in his crib anymore at least not safely - I converted it to the toddler bed but he is still too young to be in there alone - he's not even 2 yet! DH was like - let's somehow attach the gate (that blocks the stairs off) to the top of his crib rails. Yeah not going to happen - but he is Mr. Fix it! LOL! Anyways so for now I set up the pack n play in his room and I just hope he doesn't figure out how to climb out of that! AHHH!!! He is too little to be doing this already :)!

Oh man that totally sucks. Unfortunately I don't have that many ideas other than the toddler bed. I do know someone who uses this:

Walmart.com: Tots in Mind - Crib Tent II with Inside Surround Net: Health & Safety

You can get them a couple of places but I don't know much about them. But they might be worth looking into. My sister ended up putting a baby gate at the door. And now she's 4 and can open but keeps little sister out. Hope you find an answer.

Besty, we get this catalog all the time and they seems to have a lot of solutions to this problem

One Step Ahead Baby - Bedroom & Bathroom

I totally worry about this too, my mom said I wanted to be in a regular big girl bed when I was about 1 years old, so hopefully Ainsleigh will give me a little longer than I gave my mother.

Your child can move to a toddle bed anytime between 1 1/2 and 3. Usually closer to 3, but some kids develop quicker and are able to sleep in their own bed with out falling out and get out of their bed just fine without hurting themselves. In that case they are ready to move on to a toddler bed. But, they say just cause they have crawled out of their bed isn't a reason to freak out and go get a new bed. It's highly recommended to actually start w/ a crib tent (like the girls posted), unless you have a quick developer ready to move on. I know you probably feel like he's still your little baby, but he's growing up quick and may just be ready to be a bigger boy!

They grow up fast don't they?? Was his bed on the lowest level? Don't forget you can always lower the mattress. I say if it is on the lowest level already, then go ahead with the toddler bed. Maybe just a bed rail will help him for now.

Good luck! They grow up so fast!

Thanks girls! I looked at that tent thing but for now I just put him back in his pack and play. He hasn't learned to climb out of that yet at least! I can't believe he is almost 2 years old - I just don't think he is ready for a toddler bed yet - I would get no sleep worrying about him playing alone in his room!! So the pack and play is working......hopefully for another year or so LOL!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
