Is there anything to advise us about? any glitches (besides your honeymoon mix-up) to warn us about?
Overall we had a really, really great time! I think some things you might run into if going with a group for your wedding are:

- it seems to be much easier to get a table for 2 at the restaurants than a table for a group. We would often get seated before groups because there was just the 2 of us, they have to wait for enough tables and chairs to open up in order to seat a group, so some patience may be needed if you want to eat with your guests on different nights of the week.
- Certain restaurants you will need to line up before 6 in order to get in. San Genarro's and Valentino's are both Italian and we never made it to either because we didnt want to spend our vacation waiting in line!
- Selection at buffet breakfasts is good, but service at your table is not usually great, we would often be almost done eating before someone would offer to fill our water glasses or coffee cups! Maybe we were there during the busiest times, maybe we had bad luck, I am not sure...

OK, those were the only negatives though really. There ARE some areas showing age, but I dont think it affects the beauty of the resort.
Overall we found the service excellent, grounds absolutely GORGEOUS, beach is decent, small but good, ocean warm and inviting and clear, and food good!

Order a dirty banana and a hummingbird and a Jamaican smile and your life will be great!! When you want a bit more rum for later evenings, go for a Rum Runner, Mai Tai, coconut rum and pineapple juice, etc, etc....!!! We had so much fun! wink.gif

We LOVED the Jamaican Smiles. Infact we brought the max amount of rum cream we could just for those. Between the other couple who went with us and ourselves we brought home 12 bottles...lol Somehow they all made it through the airports without being broke. We just finished off the last of our bottles a couple of weeks ago. It was sorta of a sad night..lol Ok so everyone doesn't think we a are huge drunks. I gave my brother a bottle as a thank you for recommending the place and we had a huge 4th of July party where we were stingy and set out 2 bottles with the mixed drink machine we rented..:-) It was great!
The dirty banana was also great. I didn't care for the hummingbird for some reason though. That was the one that really pink and kinda tasted like bubble gum right?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
