Can you believe Valentine's Day is right around the corner? 17 days away!!!!

I know you girls are full of fun & creative ideas!!! blush2.gif

I'll go first...

One of my best friends is going through a divorce right now. Yup, after 13 years and breast cancer her husband decided to file for divorce. confused.gif

Well she moved from San Antonio to Houston (where her family lives) and I've invited her to come down to San Antonio for Valentine's Day! cheer2.gif

I made reservations at the beautiful Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort -Wildflower Spa- for one of their Valentine Packages. It's going to be a girl's weekend this year. FI will be there with friends golfing. But my girlfriend & I will be experiencing a little pampering at their luxurious spa!! Chocolate massage at that!! =)

At the end of the day we will all have dinner & kinda go our diff ways after that??

So tell me, what are your Valentine plans this year?

Oh, that sounds nice! I could use a little pampering

I actually only found your thread cuz I searched for "valentine". I am at a loss this year as to what to do for Matt. I usually buy him something practical and something fun, each time i buy him something. Usually, the something "fun" has something to do with sex. I just feel that is getting old and I should try something different. But I have no idea what!

I've already done the "go away for a weekend", "go to a super nice restaurant", "buy sexy lingerie", etc. route. Got any ideashuh.gif

He's not really materialistic. Kinda the anti-materialistic. He thinks everything is a waste of money. Unless it has to do with his car, of course. Anyway, I am at a total loss. It's our first Valentine's married and I have no clue how to make it special!

Well, for Christmas my FMIL & FFIL bought us a weekend getaway to Banff (Alberta, Canada) to the Rimrock Resort in the Rocky Mountains... Babysitting included!! We love to just get away for a day or 2, it keeps things fresh :) We are probably going to indulge in a massage or something like that while we are there.

My girlfriend is flying in from Jersey (actually my MOH) and we have no idea what we are going to do. I don't typically do a big valentine day thing with my DH. We decided this a few years ago when it was so difficult to get into a restaurant, hotel, etc. during Valentine day. So we will just do our romantic Valentine get away during the "slow" season.

We just stayed at the Rimrock after New Years! We had a blast - it's such a beautiful hotel and Banff is such a nice getaway. You must be excited!
I am flying out to visit my MOH on Valentine's Day and hopefully go shopping for her dress. It is her birthday on Feb 15 so I'm hoping to give her and her hubby a night off from baby (their daughter is 7 months) so hopefully they can go out for dinner and I can babysit.
My FI is a little bummed that I won't be home so I'm planning a surprise Valentine's Day complete with decorations (we are big decorators!) a few days before.

My FI and I have decided not to do anything huge. We are trying to save money and the day in itself kind of drives me crazy! So commercial. I might be the odd ball but I would rather get flowers or a small gift on a random day than on Valentine's day.

I think we are going to do a nice dinner at home. Maybe some crab legs and movie. Maybe home-made chocolate covered strawberries for dessert!

I have no idea. DH has to work until about 5 that day - but we are brand new newlyweds so we better be doing something!!! lol

Although, I'm kind of with Sylvia on this one - I hate the thought I trying to get a reservation at an overcrowded restaurant!! I would like a nice dinner cooked for me & just bring me some nice flowers...oh, & don't forget the card! If nothing else, there has to be a card (although DH still hasn't really learned that one!)

Ive boycotted Valentines Day since HS - and Ive been a couple most Valentines Days. I personally think its a stupid day - single or not. However, FI and I are going to some charity gala event with a bunch of our friends. Free dinner and wine - hello! How could I turn that down? Plus I get to get dressed up and wear my new heels. Yay me.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
