Are kids coming to your destination wedding?

Recommended Posts

I know that it is okay to have an adults only ceremony and reception. But it is okay to have an adults only destination wedding? Meaning not allowing kids to come to the resort. We would like to have an adults only weekend, and not be around screaming kids and breast feeding. If we did allow kids we would have around 30 kids there and completely change the tone of the weekend.

How do we communicate this to our guests?

Wow....

Family history tells me that people sometimes take offence to this.

Kids are coming to mine, but it is a week long.

If yours was a week away, I would say no...not many parents can arrange child care for a week or want to part with their kids for that long.

BUT, this is a weekend...much easier to swallow, arrange and position.

Position it as a "fun getaway" at an adults only AI and I think you'll be ok.

One other thing to consider is who you have invited... in families, you may run into trouble if those being counted on to baby sit are also invited to the wedding.

Kids are coming to my wedding but they are all about 7 years of age. We have mostly family coming along and kind of approached our wedding as an opportunity for everyone to have a vacation. Ultimately it is up to you and what will make your day what you want. I would think that booking an adult only resort would get the idea across. Maybe you could recommend another kid friendly resort close by for those who want to take their kids to vacation and the adults can come to your resort for the day of the wedding.

Kids will be attending our wedding, I know I can't find a babysitter for a week. If you don't have kids then it would be hard for you to understand. And my normal babysitters are my mom and FI mom, and they both are attending the wedding. So, I feel if my kids are going to be there, I can't tell the rest of the guests that thiers can't come. I'm with the other girls, if you want an ADULT ONLY wedding, then you need to bring it up to your family ASAP. You may find that people you thought would be there may not come if their kids aren't welcome. Good Luck with your decision, and keep us posted!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
