Are kids coming to your destination wedding?

Recommended Posts

We have so many friends and family that have small children there was no way we could get away with not inviting them! Fortunately we happened to fall in love with a resort that happens to be family friendly :)

Our children are in our wedding and there will be an additional 3-4 kids coming.  My children will be missing the 1st week of school, but their parents only get married once.    :)

We are having our wedding at an all inclusive kid friendly resort. I live away from most of my friends and family. I am just about the only one who does not have kids...some of the kids I have never even met in person, or haven't seen since they were born because we live so far apart. So I am giving my guest the option to bring them if they choose. I'm sure I would love to party with my friends and family kids free, but I also want to see the kids too. I know that's not for everyone.

I just attended a DW in Jamaica at an all inclusive adults only resort. It was great, very relaxing, and a lot of partying and fun! However my friend found that those friends and family who had children some were not able to attend or only 1/2 of the couple were able to attend causing Issues with single rooms, some people also didn't realise it was an adults only until after they had put down a deposit and then had to back out while not getting their money back.

I would suggest giving plenty of notice, playing up as an adult fun get away to your guests. and maybe suggest sharing rooms to your split couple guests to lower the cost for them.

Plan the wedding YOU want...and enjoy it! :)

We invited people with their kids.  A few opted to go away without their kids - but that was their choice.  I didn't really see it being appropriate to ask people to come to Mexico but to leave their young children home.

I ran into this problem. I was originally going with the adults only resort because my fiancé and I don't have kids and didn't want to be a resort filled with kids. People did take offence to this once they found out so then I ended up changing my plans. Now I am booking a resort at Melia Tropical which has an adults only section so we are going to be staying there. So it works out for everyone that one. You could consider that.

We will be bringing our kids to our wedding in Jamaica. One will be almost 4 and the other almost 1 when we go. I did pick a resort that allows kids but it does not necessarily cater to them, its mostly for adults. However I asked our friends/family before deciding on a place and they mostly said if they can come they will want a kid free vacation! so that helped us decide! They all have the option but it sounds like there will only be 2 other kids coming besides our two.

Yes, we have about at least 6 maybe even up to 12 kids coming. Our daughters will be almost 4 and almost 1 at the time.

We are booking at a family-friendly resort, but it is directly adjacent to an Adults-only, so this way if people are not comfortable being around kids, they really don't have to be. Also, there is a kids club at the family hotel, so parents can leave their kids there and come hang out with the other adults for a litte while

I loved so many adult only resorts but we have 2 kids and obviously I want them there so I booked a family friendly resort. Not many others will be bringing kids but I knew for me there was no option...as a guest it would totally depend on if I had family to watch them bc I don't have babysitters is trust with them for a several day event

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
