Also, what kinds of locations are there for the receptions and what kinds of additional options do they give you when you get there?

Thanks,

Hi Rhonda! welcome.gif to the forum!

I have posted all the pics I have reaceived form Amber in regards to ceremony/reception locations earlier in this thread - did you see those?

It doesn't seem like there are many Beaches brides on this forum but hopefully someone has a video you can see.

Hello ladies! I am getting married at Beaches Negril on 1.25.10! We are staying 1/22-1/30. Initially, we wanted to stay 4 nights at Beaches--having our wedding there b/c we have guests under 18--and 4 at Sandals Negril next door. Because we would have been losing the perks/deals that come along with doing our entire stay at one resort & the huge cost addition we are just going to do our entire stay at Beaches. I hope we've made the right decision...but I'm sure we'll have an amazing time regardless. I have found & purchased my dress...but I am worried because I did not pick a "DW dress". We still have MANY decisions before us...regarding the reception & ceremony & I have many unanswered questions at this point. It is difficult for me to understand the people I speak to on the phone, though, they certainly are VERY friendly! I am hoping to find some answers here to help me along in this process :) I feel like time is running out & I will admit I am pretty stressed out at this point..haha!

Welcome to the forum! Check out the thread below about opening attachments. You need to have 150 posts before you can download anything - this is done to encourage everyone to participate. I know 150 posts seems far away, but with all the information on this forum, it's so easy to get addicted and you'll be at 150posts before you know it! Hope this helps :)

Hey there!!! I am getting married at Beaches Turks and Caicos on 1.23.2010 and I know exactly how you feel. Time is closing in but we also still have some time to get things done. Try not to stress, take it day by day. Im a total list maker and it is super handy for me and I love to cross things off when I accomplish them.. even though I dont want the wedding planning to end bc I love it sooo much!!!

Thank you & Congrats to you as well :) I am also still learning the site & tools. I went under the Quick Links tab at the top, selected Edit Signature, and was able to upload my photo (the one that appears under my name each time I post, along the left-hadn side of the screen, above all my info)...for a profile pic, I would go under that same tab at the top and select Your Profile...you should be able to upload a photo there, I think!

About dresses...mine has minor bead-work, but has 4 layers to it (I believe)...it has a train, but I am planning to keep it bustled. The 2 dresses I had it narrowed down to were the same color but were totally different in all other aspects....the other was very lightweight, only ONE layer of fabric (which is one reason I didn't choose it...it was almost *see-through* to me & wasn't very forgiving), it also had a train & I felt, compared to the other dress (the one I chose) it wouldn't have bustled as nicely. Out of the 7 people who cast their votes (I was the 8th), 4 voted for the one I ended up choosing & 3 were all for the lighter-weight, DW-style gown. The girl in the store almost had me convinced, though, b/c she kept going on and on about how I might be sweaty, uncomfortable, etc. with the 4-layers in the one dress...but I just HAD to go w/ the one I felt flattered my figure the best :) I am keeping my fingers crossed the heaviness won't backfire on me & make me miserable on my special day :S

I'll probably get around to posting pics of my dress in the appropriate thread when I get a chance!

Hey ladies. There has been talk about Beaches now "allowing" outside vendors to take your photographs if staying at the hotel for a minimum of three nights. I did email my WC and I also called Beaches about this and this was their response:

I am well aware of this blog, but actually for ex. if a bride brings a friend and has her stay on property and she takes photos professionally then we do allow them to shoot the wedding. No equipment will be allowed with the exception of a camera though. I can send you some photos that we have done for our other past couples if you are wondering or concerned about this.

Please keep in mind that we still don’t allow any offsite vendor or person/entity coming from outside to offer any services for our weddings. I hope this clarifies details for you.

So, I am wondering if we fly in a friend of mine...who just started a photography business, literally, like 2 months ago....could she take our pics? She doesn't use any equipment for outdoor pics other than her nice camera. I wonder if there is even any way they would know?? I mean, how would they know we didn't just purchase the camera & are having a guest take pics for us...?! This photography crap is pissing me off about this resort...I was in love it until NOW. I will def. be requesting a showcase of their past work...if they can't meet that request then there are NOT making any extra $$money$$ off of us! What do you ladies think, though, is this something you would just go ahead & do anyway to make sure you are getting quality pics?? Do you think there's a way they would find out that she does have a business doing this (even if it's still small at this point)??

This could've ended up being a deal breaker for us. I have seen past pics of their staff photographer and while they weren't horrible, it definitely wasn't what I wanted for my wedding. I don't want to offend anyone who has decided to use the Beaches photographer - it just wasn't for me and I was willing to switch resorts if this was going to be an issue.

I already have a professional photographer booked, and have talked to both our TA as well as the resort about this and have been told there will be no issues.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
