The wonderful wedding coordinator can't seem to return emails or phone calls so I have nothing new to report! I am getting pretty irritated since I only have 2 months to go and can't get answers to some very simple questions about the ceremony.

Does anyone know if there is more than 1 wedding coordinator? Currently my wc is Amber.

On a positive note - my bridal shower was today!! It was a lot of fun. It was a good reminder of what great family & friends I have.

Is anyone taking a lot of extra's with them like - toasting flutes, serving sets, additional decor? I am trying to decide how much I should take with me & what I should just forget about. Any ideas?

So far I am taking fushia satin chair sashes for the ceremony (the chairs on the beach are white) & then asking the resort to transfer them to the reception, disposable cameras, wedding wishes cards for the guest to sign, favor boxes with jellybeans or m&m's.

At least there is one other Beaches bride still out there :)

I don't know if there are any other WC's - mine is Amber as well. My DW is further away from yours so I really haven't started working with her too much, but it took her almost 2 weeks to get back to me TA with our contract to confirm the date. I also sent Amber an email on Wed/Thur of last week and haven't heard back, but it's only been a few days so I'm not annoyed yet lol.

As far as what I'll be taking with me - I'm sure I'll have a couple of extra suitcases! I'm doing OOT bags, so that probably at least a half of a suitcase right there! Then I was planning on doing the same as you and bringing my own chair sashes. Wedding wishes/guestbook - right now I'm leaning towards buying postcards once we are down there to use for this, but not sure yet. Everything else is kind of up in the air right now. The email I sent to Amber was asking to see pictures of whats included with the free wedding package, along with what upgrades are available. This will help me determine what else I'm bringing.

Will probably not worry about bringing toasting flutes or serving sets - will worry about that for our AHR, if at all. I want the DW to be as simple and as stress free as possible :)

I don't know about anyone else, but I don't mind :) I think us Beaches brides need to stick together since there don't see to be that many of us, lol. Beaches T & C was my first pick, but everyone whined that it was more expensive and there were no direct flights, blah, blah, blah. So Negril was my compromise. But I've never been to Turks & Caicos and I would love to go!!

We definately need to stick together! There are not many of us so the more info to share the better.

We had orginally planned on T & C as well, but right when we went to book a some celeb got married there & the price tripled!! We needed to get things moving along so went with Jamaica for the cheaper price & more direct flights for everyone.

I attached a copy of the ceremony vows for everyone. I am not sure if you can change any of the wording, but you can add to it if you want. We are having someone do an opening prayer & then bless the rings.

Getting married Oct 3, 09 @ Beaches Negril. Originally we were going to have the Carribean Sunset wedding but I just recently switched it the 3pm time. I wanted to change to many things with the package and the cost was growing & growing.

I will say though that Amber was really helpful with doing that!! She is hard to get ahold of but I think she has a lot on her plate.

Either way it is really great to know that I have some time to decide on the reception, we are doing the 2 or 3 hour dinner reception.

I am most wondering where is the best place to get marriedhuh.gif I want to wear heels so not sure if i want to walk the beach..... but I will if thats the best spot.

Also I saw someone had the reception on the beach under a tent w a dance floor, anyone had luck with that? we are partiers and will have a DJ w lots of dancing so it needs to be a great spot for dancing.

So excited and cant wait!!

Thanks for sharing the vows! I haven't received anything from Amber yet so we haven't even started planning the actual ceremony yet. I was talking to my TA about this and she's telling me that it's pretty standard to wait until about 4 months before your wedding date before you start planning the ceremony, flowers, etc. And I was like WHAT?!?! I said oh no - I need to talk to Amber before then because I have decisions to make, lol. I want to see pics of the standard flowers, decorations, etc so I can figure out what I need to buy and bring with me.

And I just noticed your date is in Sept - wow you are getting so close!! :) You'll definitely have to give us a detailed review when you get back!

I originally thought I wanted the sunset collection as well - the flowers are beautiful, but I wanted to do it more just for the 5:30 time slot, lol. Then I decided that was just a crazy amount of money to spend on flowers and a cake. And now that the PB collections are going away and the Martha Stewart stuff is coming in, I have NO idea of what's going to be available. So right now we have the 4pm time slot. But that's the time with the highest chance of rain during the day so we're thinking about moving it earlier. I just can't make up my mind!!

I would think walking on the beach in heels might be a challenge, but I think I've seen other threads that said they could do some type of runner (maybe it's a plywood underneath or something?) so you could still wear heels. You may want to ask about that.

I'd love to find out more info about the tent and the dance floor too - my family would love that! Now if only Amber would respond to me email sad.gif

Yea its a lil crazy with the prices on the packages. I wasnt even aware they are switching to Martha but maybe thats after I am going to be there.

I will tell you one of the most fustrating thing that has happened has been that Mikes family all booked their trips months ago and then decided to stay an extra nite (that would be 3 adults and 1 kid) and since the airline was giong to charge them a change fee of $200 each person they decided not to stay. I contacted Beaches and talked to them about maybe compensating them with something to help offset the airline charge..... No luck. Its crazy since I encouraged everyone to use Beaches.com and not go thru a TA. So then last week teh same thing w a good friend of mine, they wont stay the extra night w/ the airline charge. Well in the end I guess Beaches is the one losing out. And everyone wanted to increase their stay no one wanted less days.

So I would make sure that your guests are 100% sure of the days they want to stay before they book the flights!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
