Question for anyone who has stayed at the Hilton

Recommended Posts

Has anyone who has had their wedding at the Hilton or who has stayed at the Hilton had any trouble with the big conferences that are held there? After reading the tripadvisor reviews, it's really my greatest concern. Thanks for your responses!

I have stayed at the Hilton 2 times and we are getting married there in July this year. There have been confrences when I was there but it was never a bad thing - the people were happy to be on vacation. Usually they have a welcome dinner or something (no different than a wedding reception) and the whole hotel gets to benifit from their firework show or live music by the pool. I thought it was great free entertainment! I would be happy to answer any other questions you have. Let me know if you want to know something more specificly...good luck!

I have not stayed there but i am hoping that there are no conferences while we are there! I know there was a big group that released their rooms for our weekend (which also dropped room prices - yay!) so I think we are in the clear. i guess asking is the easiest way to know. I do know however that they only do one wedding per weekend.

I've been there when there was a conference. I agree with Sarah - it didn't negatively impact us at all. In fact, I really didn't notice them except that, from time to time, someone would have a name badge on.

They hold the conference events at the front of the hotel and (if it's really big) by the really big reflection pool/bar area in a completely separate part of the hotel from where the weddings typiclly are held.

We stayed there on our HM. There were 2 conferences/conventions that were there. I'm not sure how "large" they were on any scale. It wasn't a big deal, the hotel was just more crowded than usual. We'd see signs for the events and lots of people dressed "not vacation-y". I guess it would depend on how big the group was that came and that you weren't trying to check in at the same time they were.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
