Beaches Negril Bride

Recommended Posts

Hello Everyone.

I just wanted to share my experience with chosing my FI and Is DW location. I joined this forum early January 2009 and was feeling very overwhelmed with all the possible locations for a DW. My FI and I knew we wanted to get married in Jamaica but were quickly discouraged with some of the prices that we were getting back from our TA.

We have two children ages 8 and 6 and we really wanted a kid friendly location. We had originally looked at some of the Beaches resorts but due to some of the other locations in Jamaica coming back quite expensive we put the Beaches on the "back Burner". Well to our surprise the price for Beaches came back quite reasonable. We were so excitted when we truely started looking at Beaches Negril. The pictures, the reviews and the prices were just too perfect.

This upcoming week we will be booking our DW at Beaches Negril and will be getting married in November 2009. Our kids are really excitted. I just wanted to share this experience to encourage all you other DW brides to explore all your options. Even if you think that one resort might be more expensive, you might be happily surprised when you pursure it further.

We have a large group travelling with us, approximately 30 - 40. Booking with a group has allowed us to get the wedding package free. We do want to have a private reception following the ceremony which isn't included in the package. We will work with the WC at Beaches Negril to ensure that have our reception, and we are prepared to pay the additonal cost of 75$/person to do that.

If anyone has been married at Beaches Negril we would love to hear from you.

YAY.. that's me!!! I am sooo excited for you to be choosing Beaches Negril as I have been the first BDW bride so far Nov/08. We have tons of girls who have just arrived to the forum joining in on the bandwagon for Beaches Negril.

It was a truely amazing expierence all around and Avia the wedding captian (not the wedding coordinator.. but I can go into that later)...will handle everything for you on your wedding day and day after. We had our son 6 and two nephews 4 and 8 who were with us for the big day. Your children are going to go wild with the thought that EVERYTHING is available to them with just a drop of hat. The kids camp is wonderful, Noah loved making Wizard Wands, Pirate Bandanas, and taking a dance class with Zoey. Oh I really could go on forever, but if you have any questions please PM me.

Our Weather was perfect ... warm about 82 I think. But with the hurricane it seemed a bit warmer than normal and the humidity was higher than normal..I am fine with both as we get alot of the same feeling in the summer here in Mass. On our wedding day even with the mist of rain and it being super humid... surprisingly enough I was not bad in my dress... I had a full formal dress... BUT it the over layer was all in Chiffon so I think that saved me along with the petticoat keeping my legs from sticking to my dress.

We really like it hot!! Humid is fine too! Just no rain!! haha... We've been thinking of changing our date from November 09 to January 2010. Not just because of the weather. My FI is in Sales and his busiest time of year is November and December... Our TA is working out the details regarding cost. We will know for sure early next week. So you mentioned something about a hurricaine?? Was it that time of year while you were there?? Also, did you guys get a lot of rain??

Actually the hurricane (Paloma) came in the day before the wedding and the day of the wedding... Day before was the worst with Downpours and rain and then the day of the wedding it was farther out away from the coast with small sprinkle showers. The begining part of Nov is really a complete and total crap shoot if you will end up with a hurricane .. they really really don't happen all that often because it's the end of the season and if they do they are on the opposite side of the island before they hit Negril. We wanted Jamaica as it's warmest without the hurricanes and November seemed best for us ... Plus I really had a thing for November 8th we were engaged on Dec 8th and international calendar posting of the date looks like this .... 08-11-08.. LOL.. yes I know cheesy.

hahaha... that's cute actually! I guess it's hit and miss with the weather either way... Were SOOOOO excitted about getting married at Beaches Negril... If you dont mind my asking, what were the prices like for your guests for one week? My TA has been awesome and she's come back to us with some really good prices, but were still curious what others that have been to this resort might have paid!!! My FI and I have only ever travelled once before to the DR and we really dont know what;s expensive and what's reasonable... heheh... blush2.gif

Hey Nancy,

Pricing seemed fair for us .. I will have to check as I really don't remember the cost per person as we only spent 5 days at Beaches and then another 5 days Couples Swept Away for our HM. We went up and got the concierge level at both resorts. Beaches is more expensive then any other place we looked at, but with what it had to offer it really wasn't something we thought about. Plus, with the crazy deals with the economy, I bet you are getting much better of a deal than us ... as we had already booked by this time last year. I can find out for you though....

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
