My OOT Bags~ the big hits and the things that weren't used

Recommended Posts

Yes they are big enough for that. They aren't made of the best quality but the size is good, and they're cute so I'm sure ppl will use them throughout the trip. (I'm still trying to fill them up but with my snack bags that'll be going in right before we leave and the Avon goodie bags I'm sure they'll be pretty full). I purchased too many bags so I will def have some to sell after the wedding. I may even do a pre wedding sale... i ordered way too much of everything...

Thanks for letting me know. I'm debating between these and a striped bag I found on a different site - 4imprint Promotional Products, Promotional Items, Advertising Specialties and Imprinted Promotional Products. I kind of like the striped one (waiting for them to send me a sample) but they have a minimum order of 100, which obviously I don't need. I started another thread trying to see if anyone is interested in a group order, but if that doesn't work I think I might go with these :)

Just wanted to try and help you girls out a bit. There are a lot of companies out there that don't have a min. amount to purchase. Have you tried e-bay. I don't know what your price range is but there are a lot of canvas oot bags for under $8.00 and they are embroidered with what ever you want.

Do you think it is worth it to get the personalized canvas bags? I have been reading through people's threads and your bags look awesome! I am just wondering if a)people used them at the resort and B) if people ever used them after they got back

which would be better: paper, grocery store type with a sticker, canvas blank or canvas with a monogram(if I ever get to making one, lol)? I am so overwhelmed!!!

I may have to take your advice and check out eBay - I haven't looked there yet. The bag I found was just so perfect, and the colors matched my flowers, and the price was just so great - I really thought I had found the perfect bag, lol and just had my mind set on that specific one. But if I can't find others who are interested in a group order, than I may need to look at other options.

From what I have read so far, it seems like the bags are a hit and are definitely being used at the resort. I don't know how many actually use them when they go home. That's why I was leaning towards a more generic design that people could possibly use at home. I doubt they'll use it if it has Heather & Eric on it, lol. But if it just has Jamaica 2010 on it, then they may actually use it again.

I know I'm definitely doing one - it's just a matter of finding the right bag now :)

  • 3 weeks later...

I lucked out and found the coolest bags! In Ontario (Canada) we have something called Liquidation World- I dont know where else they have these... Anyway, I went in there looking for cheap dishes for my daughter who is going to University, and I found THE bags. They were 2/$3.00 and they are aqua with brown handles (my colours). They are also water resistant - which alot of people said on here worked better. Yippee!!!

I have just started on my OOT bags. So far I have purchased beach towels because our resort seemed to be out everyday when I visited

Beach Towels wholesale manufacturer of plain and custom embroidery towel

They came in yesterday and they are pretty nice

We are debating on bags right now. I have found two that I like

Harriton M915 Contrast Handle Tote Bag - T-ShirtWholesaler.com

Walmart.com: Mackinac Moon Microfiber Tote Bag, Blue: Crafts

Still deciding on this. Then we have left over Thai Silk boxes from our invitations so we are going to make that the first aid box with advil, alka seltzer, band aids and a welcome note.

I bought plastic cups from Michaels that say eat drink and be married in our wedding color. A little cheesy but they will do the trick. I think we are going to put a scented candle as well because the rooms do smell a little musty. And then our last piece will be an itinerary of events.

I just want to get this all done now and move forward....who knew a destination wedding was going to be this much work?!?!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
