For my welcome letter I did it on a postcard. If you register at vista print.com they start sending you emails with free stuff. One of the emails I received was 100 free postcards ! So I picked a background with ocean/palm tree and wrote a simple message.

Welcome to Cancun, Mexico!

Dear Family & Friends,

We are extremely pleased that you were able to travel with us to celebrate our special day. Words definitely cannot express how sincerely honored and blessed we feel that you are here.

We hope that you fully enjoy your time in Paradise and the festivities that this weekend will bring.

As a small token of our appreciation for your being here, please enjoy your beach bag & the goodies it contains. We hope they make your stay in Cancun just a little more fun and comfortable.

Let the fun begin!

Danny & JoHannah

The best part of all! I paid less then $7.00!!! I think it was like $6.42 :)

Handsant. wipes - dollar tree - 3 packages for $1
Lip balm - dollar tree - 3 for $1
Aloe body gel - dollar tree - $1
sun screen - $1
tylenol - dollar tree- 1 box with 3 packets = 6 pills in total - $1

For people that have little kids...im adding childrens sunscreen and floats with nemo, little mermaid, and spiderman - all from dollar tree!

Things i still need to get - some activity books for the kids ( which will of course come frm dollar tree) I have also need to get some tums, bandaids etc.

I really like the idea for the drinks for dummies - im gonna start to look now :)

Wow....I hadn't even thought about Dollar Tree! What a great idea! Sometimes the answer is so obvious! Also we have teenagers coming to our wedding (no little kids). Any suggestions from anyone on Teen items to include? I have thought about a sudoko book.....but I just don't know what they are into besides their ipods and smartphones!

Thanks ladies!

For teenagers, you could throw in a current magazine last minute. Sports Illustrated or something like that for the guys... US weekly or People for the girls? You can also get cards for purchasing songs to download which I'm sure would be kind of cool for them to receive since it's something that could easily be used anytime!

If they are girly girls they have lip gloss with a hint of color and sparkles... body lotion /shower gel. If you do mag. you would need to pick them up the week before you leave...like US weekly or OK so they have current celeb. info. :) Maybe even Hair clips or headbands...simple ones that they can use all the time in brown or black. Even cross word books (they have tons at dollar tree) What about a journal with a pen or paper notebook? I guess they sill write now a days!lol

What about playing cards? Beach Balls (oriental trading.com) If the resort allows floats at their pool..you have to check.

My big thing with this is....we are doing a destination wedding to save $..not spend more! I did thoughtful gifts..nothing 2 $...because its the thought that counts.

Where did you get your lip balm? I'm having a hard time figuring that out for some reason, LOL!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
