My OOT Bags~ the big hits and the things that weren't used

Recommended Posts

Well this is what I have so far for my OOT Bags. My FI made a good point about the hand wipes.. there is only one! So, I'm putting those into the First Aid kits so they don't go to waste and getting the little bottles of sanitizer instead.

The day planners were 2 for $1.00 at the dollar store - The surfer dude's are for the guys and the flamingos are for the girls.

Everything actually came from the dollar store!! Love it :)

Just waiting on our bags from cheaptotes.com. We bought the neutral ones and are going to transfer our monogram on them ourselves!

I am going to make my own logo and use iron on transfers for the bags.

If you really want to use the hand wipes instead of the bottles, you can look for the box of individually wrapped Purell wipes. There were more than 100 in the box so I was able to give several packets to each guest. I just put them right into the first aid kit too. I think I got those from Staples as well.

The box looks like this:

And each was individually wrapped like this:

We are going to include a book (not sure if we'll do all the same or a few) since we'll be at the beach and I know I always run out of reading material on the plane! We figured if there is some overlap it will also give guests that don't know each other well something to talk about. Kind of like a big wedding book club of sorts. We haven't done it yet so I don't know if it'll go over well; I'll let you know! We'll probably try to find a book by a PV author or with PV as the setting.

I have one thing to add that may be a little pricey but would have come in very handy - a small USB memory stick. A few of us had laptops so were downloading the picture cards from each other's cameras, but it would have been great to be able to put all pictures on one laptop and store the photos to a USB port for everyone. I am not that tech savvy so am unsure how big of a memory stick you would need, but I would think a 1G would have been enough.

Also, we used paper bags because I thought all of my guests were seasoned travelers and would have their own beach bags but many of them either didn't have one or forgot theirs, so I wish I would have spent the money on beach bags (for the women at least - the guys wouldn't have used them).

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
