There is no need to claim any of it on your customs forms - there is no where to claim such thing  - you didn't buy it there, its not anything "inordinate in expense , value or goods" your not re-selling it. - its a small gift for guests with little monetary value. They don't care about that stuff, and they see it so much -- almost every destination bride does these bags/kits- these are popular wedding destinations, it's a regular occurrence no doubt. I wouldn't give it a second thought. I didn't hide it, I filled my suitcase and put it through screening like all the others.

You should look up Mexico customs. My wedding was Jamaica and they didn't have any stipulations, but it is British commonwealth, so not nearly as many issues with anything come into that country , unlike some others. I really do feel that you probably need to find the definition of "medicines" because everything I have been told it had to do with Prescription meds only....not over the counter. I believe as long as everything is packaged like the kits/labels you will be fine though -- possibly put it out to some past Brides from Mexico for reassurance though ;)

I have done reserach on Mexico and read numerous posts on this website in different places, but that's why I'm asking if others have had trouble getting the drugs through.  Yes, everyone does these Welcome Bags and Hangover Kits, but there are certain things they don't like.  For instance, they don't like if you bring in textiles, like towels, they will charge you a duty for those.  I'm just checking here to see if other brides have had any difficulty with customs seeing their pre-packaged bags with sunscreen, lip balm, ibuprofen, immodium, pepto-bismol and said anything.  I don't know if we should spread these things out between the 7 people going with us and put things in there packages there.  Just like to hear some experience with brides that have gone to Mexico.  I know you can take in $300 worth of stuff per person, and need the receipts to prove how much things cost.  It's not the same as Jamaica or other Caribbean properties.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
