My OOT Bags~ the big hits and the things that weren't used

Recommended Posts

Hey ladies, just wanted to post a quick update for what was used in our OOT bags. Most people seemed to use the cups and the bags. We packed double walled tumblers with straws for everyone. We also saw people using the actual beach bag quite a bit. Although I loved putting together the oh Sh!t kits, I am really not sure if anyone used the stuff in them. I know for sure done used the Aloe. We had also packed Tylenol, gum, lip chap, propel (this was used), hand sanitizer, tide to go, Kleenex, and tums. We also packed the kits for ourselves and most of the stuff we didn't use. I made welcome books for everyone with indie on the resort, about Jamaica, and games. These were a big hit. Although I am not sure if people used them, they sure did enjoy getting them and lots of people mentioned they are a good keepsake. The final thing we included were Id badge holders. I didn't realize before we left that R rio ocho rios, the standard rooms have actual keys and a huge keychain attached to them, so guests couldn't use the holder for their room key. I did see a few guests using them for tip money and other things thoug. Overall I think they were a great item yo include and we definitely used ours.

We packed the kits for ourselves as well not sure about our guests but we used the following out of our Kit:

Bandaids- the first day my flip flops cut my foot

Aloe - My hubby got sun brunt on the 2nd to last day

Pepto - we both had a little stomach issue on separate nights but no big deal

Hair elastic - I always loose these things

Lip Balm with SPF- we used ours everyday and I know that few guests also used it

Advil - I had a headache the second night

What we didn't use

Dramamine

Anti bacterial wipes (used at least by one guests, my sister's ear piercing had closed and my hubby's sister (who is a nurse) use it to sterilize a needle to re pierce her ear so she could wear the BM's Jewelry)

tums

I wish we had put neosporin in the kits

It is a fantastic idea if you do not want to have to bring everything down with you, assemble, then pay to have distributed to your guests rooms. Plus, it gives them something very relaxing to do and is really appreciated by your guests who are traveling so far for your big day!

Happy Planning!

That's actually not a bad idea! Thanks for sharing!

I just wanted to share a great site I found for first aid supplies and meds. https://www.firstaidsuppliesonline.com/ They have name brand and generic. I got IBU, antacids, first aid ointment and sunburn gel, enough for 25 bags, for $33.53, including shipping. I found a coupon online for 10% off. That was for the generic supplies. They do carry name brands like advil, motrin and pepto, I decided i need to cut corners where I can so I got the generic, but still great prices on the name brands also!!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
