Can't make a decision!!

Hey everyone,

Wow I thought having a destination wedding would be easy but it is turning out to be a bit of work! We've finally set a date for october 09, not set in stone though. We got a few recomendations and we really like the Occidental Grand Xcaret so have been planning for that. Now that I am looking into it more I think it is going to be too expensive and out of our price range. We were looking at keeping it between $1200-$1500 per guest, and maybe spending $1000, but it would be nice if it was free. I don't mind spending a bit on extras and such but the I don't want to spend alot on the ceremony/reception. We just want something small and simple, and just a big group dinner at a a la carte restraunt would be fine. I can't garantee that we would get enough rooms to qualify for the free wedding at OGX. I know no one would book the royal club junior suite, so we would have to book 20 rooms, and the free wedding only includes services for 20 people. So even if we got 20 rooms, that would be 40 people. So I guess what I am asking is if anyone has had a wedding here what was your final cost? or if you can recommend something in my price range/needs that would be awesome :) Thanks so much!

Thanks everyone. I am not totally fixed on the mayan riveira. We were originally thinking Jamaica but the prices were too high. We have been told that dominican. cuba and mexico were the best prices. So I guess I am going to have to keep this resort in mind and price out some more!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
