Did anyone by OOT bag stuff in Jamaica?

Great question.. I would like to purchase rum cream for the drinkers and coffee for the non drinkers..

Well I am the minorty on this one. I actually gave everyone their bags a few days before we left or when I knew I was going to be able to see them before we left. This way I had wayyy more room for all the stuff I was bringing down and everyone would not have double of everything and could bring down what they really wanted. However since I had tshirts and the boys had hats.. I made a little checklist to please bring these items with you. As for local goodies things I did pick up down in Jamaica like it was metioned above I used floral fantasies too they were perfect.

lol. we are still working on the 6 bottles we brought back from last trip, but that is not going to stop us from bringing back more when we do our pre-planning trip in a few weeks!

I love rum cream I was hooked after the first time I had it. Now when I hear of someone going to Jamaica, I ask for it

I'm from Jamaica and very familiar with MoBay. You can buy most of your OOT bag contents at the local supermarket for much less than what's sold in the hotel, souvenier shops, or airport. Not sure what resort you'll be at, but the supermarket in the Blue Diamond plaza (east of the airport, across from the new RIU and the Burger King) has small burlap bags of blue mountain coffee, mini liquor bottles, small rum cakes, and lots of snack foods and candies that are traditional Jamaican brand items that will make your OOT bags more authentic and unique than the ones just just contain your typical stuff like mosquito repellant, sunscreen, etc. Blue Diamond is easily spotted off the main road and is very clean and organized. Plus you won't have to worry about haggling with vendors, and is a one stop shop for everything you could want. In the same plaza is a pharmacy that has a few other souvenier type items as well....again, a local store so very cheap. Good luck!

Thank you for the suggestion and the clear directions. With so much to remember it will be nice to just pick up the items and drop them in the bags before the guests start coming in. I wanted to have everything ready but i would much rather the luggage space.

Great information on here! I'm still deciding between using floralfantasies or not - I'm arriving on Thursday and my wedding is on Saturday, so I don't want to be rushed and frantic about getting bags together! Thanks for all the great info!

We are all staying in a hotel close to the airport the night before so we are going to give them to our guest then. There are 2 children coming as well and I am struggling what to put in their bags. Anyone got any ideas ?

How was your trip? My I know both a massage therapist and a girl who works in the Salon there very very well and can recommend them to you if you are getting those services done on property for your wedding. I can send you a private msg w/ their contact info if you'd like. I've been going to the Ritz there for the past 5 yrs and know everyone there, so when I say these 2 are the best, they really are.
