Dress Advice - What Would You Do?

Recommended Posts

Hey girls!

I've been mulling over this in my head for the last few days and have decided to seek your wise opinions on the subject.

My dress, which is not classified specifically as a "destination" wedding dress, has a rather long train. I think the train would be lovely for a church wedding but I'm not sure I'm comfortable having it down for a destination wedding ceremony, like it's too formal.

I was thinking I may just keep it bustled the entire day (including the ceremony). If I do this, then I won't have to worry about my mom or step-dad accidentally stepping on it when we walk down the aisle too, which is a nice bonus lol. I don't know, what would or have you done in this situation?

I've included pics to help you guys see what I mean. cheesy.gif

I think it's beautiful. My dress had a pretty long train. I wore it down for the ceremony then bustled it. I kept it bustled for our AHR.

You can also have it cut off if you are worried it is too long. I personally think wedding dresses need trains, LOL When will you ever get a chance to wear one otherwise?

That was my original plan...so I might still do that.

Thanks for your opinions girls, they mean a lot to me!! cheesy.gif I guess I'll have to think on it some more, I do love how it looks with the bustle up though. I would shorten the train except that I'm already paying $300 to get the bust fixed and the bustle made, so that brings my total dress cost to $1,900. It's starting to hurt my wallet a little lol. sad.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
