For those of you who have been to cancun or will be having there wedding there, are you planning any other group outing besides the welcome dinner?

Has anyone visited Isla Mujeres? What can one expect there? Is it worth it sending guests there?

I was looking through this site just to get ideas and then ask my TA about any outings she might suggest:

Apple Vacations: #1 Tour Operator in the U.S. and America's Favorite Vacation Company!

I have done the Chichen Itza trip and the snorkeling to Puerto Morelos. Both were fun but I would suggest the first since everyone can do that one. I was an all day event for me.

i think tulum/ xel ha is the funnest trip...you get to see the ruins, then have a fun day at this eco-water park.

i also loved jet skiing through the jungle (jungle tour).

and have heard the zip line is really fun.

do NOT do BOB (this underwater scuba thing where they put this bowln thing over your head)...it made 1/2 our group so sick.

the isla mujeres tour was ok...i probably wouldnt do it again.

I wouldn't BOB either. My father did it... only when he was underwater, all of a sudden his mask broke! And it was really heavy and it was VERY hard for him to get back to the surface quick enough. Scary.

My fiancee and I went to Isla Mujeres on a day trip. It's nice, but it was a little too long. The snorkeling was pretty good; nice reef. My fiancee loved swimming with the dolphins, but it's an extra cost. Overall, it's something cool to do but I would not suggest sending over a group of people. Way too long.

Hey Jilly

yea I've been away a bit. Got caught up in things..want to finish finalizing details. One month to go!!! Can't even believe it! nervous and anxious!

Dreams has snorking, scuba, dolphins, jet skiing, it's like we don't even need to leave the resort..but I wanted something for us to do together as an option...any other ideas?

I know there is a lot to do there without leaving, I think we might try to plan a group trip to either chichen itza or the tulum xel-ha trip, since everyone says that one is so much fun.

I think your guests will take care of themselves too, you don't really have to worry about them. Its like they're on vacation, they'll find something to occupy themselves.

I really want to do the zip line thing but it doesn't say how long it is or if they serve lunch onthe trip. I am trying to stay away from all day activities because I want the bridal party to have a chance to relax and do their own thing too. I would hate to have them in Cancun and not get a chance to enjoy it because I have them running around so much.

I completely agree. Guests are looking forward to relaxing and having a mini-vacation too. We are going to provide everyone with activities to do and let them make up there own minds. I don't want guests to feel as though their entire trip is planned for them.

However, everyone must be on time for the wedding! We are marrying at 6:30 (a little before sunset), but everyone will be told 6:00. (We have guests that are late to everything) blush2.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
