HI Sara

It might work better for you to have de wedding at dreams and spend the HM at O&O. The wedding at dreams will be great for a lower price and then, having an awesome stay at Palmilla would make it, simply one of a kinda.

Dear Sara,

With all due respect to both resorts they cannot be compared. Dreams is a very fun resort that is very affordable for large groups and have the open environment for everyone you invite to your wedding.

On the other hand, O&O Palmilla is a very elegant and exclusive resort that is quite pricey and is mainly oriented for couples and people who really want to relax. It is very different than any hotel you've ever stayed before.

I am sure you will make the best pick.

You may want to consider getting married at Club 96, which is a private beach club adjacent to the One & Only and then having your group stay somewhere more affordable. The One & Only would have been my first choice hands down. However, it was minimum $650/nt. For us, that was too much to ask our guests to pay considering they had already paid for the expense of just getting to Cabo. We were able to rent out the whole venue so we had it all to ourselves. It has the same feel as the hotel but with complete privacy. It is gorgeous and very exclusive feeling. It was much more afforadable then the One & Only too. I have lot of pics of it if you'd like to see it. A lot of our pics on the beach have the One & Only in the background. While we were there we also found out that Club 96 is open to the public for dinner so we are planning on going back to Cabo for our anniversary, staying at the One & Only and then having dinner at Club 96, where we got married! Just PM me your email address and I'll send you the pics if you'd like. It took my breath away and exceeded all of my expectations.

=) Kristen

Hello Sara,

I have done weddings at both hotels. As Tlseege said, you can have a beautiful wedding at both places. The important thing is getting a venue that fits your needs and also your personality. If privacy is important for you, if you want to be the only bride on your wedding day, and be pampered at every moment, then you should really consider the O&O.

Good luck and great planning!

Saludos,

I checked out both venues (along with Esperanza and Ventanas) and we chose Palmilla. It is such a beautiful, private and unique location. If money isn't the main issue, I'd highly recommend it! All of the O&O hotels that I've stayed at have been worth the expense. Let me know if you have any questions!

Counting down the days till our O&O wedding!

  • 4 months later...

Ugh~ Palmilla was on my short list until I was told the Chapel is only for Catholic weddings (and it will be in Spanish) - Is this true? Anyone have heard otherwise? The person I heard from O&O didn't seem too trustworthy...hopefully I can here from someone here...

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
