Hello BDW!

Just thought I woudl say Hello! to everyone!

I am getting married on November 17, 2007 at the Fiesta Americana Grand Los Cabos.

I can't believe I just found this website...at least I've found the location, now I'll pick your brain for the rest of the planning!

I'm going to Cabo this weekend for a site visit, so any input or thoughts is appreciated!

I'm pretty familiar with Cabo in general, we have a timeshare at the Fiesta Americana and have been going there for five years, but I'm not very familiar about vendors, etc and I'm always looking for new ideas!

Looking forward to making some new Cabo friends!

Pssh, I'm jealous of your and your Cabo for five years!!!! wink.gif I guess you'll probably be giving us a lot more info that the other way around!!

When do you leave for the site visit? How long are you going for?? Are you going to use your timeshare for your wedding or are you scoping resorts? Definately post reviews of anywhere/vendors you visit! :)

Nini+_Bride, I hope I didn't sound weird saying that we have been to Cabo before, I just meant that we love it so much, it was only natural to get married there!

Let me see if I can answer:

We leave on Friday (two days) for the site visit, just for the weekend...I know, such a painfully short trip! But it should be enough time to meet with FA and do some preliminary planning!

We're not using the timeshare for the resort for two reasons, 1.) we've already used our time this year!, and 2.) since it's sort of separate from the rest of the resort, we want to make sure we'll be with our guests as much as possible! So we're going to stay in the regular part of the resort, and save our timeshare for New Years!

I will definitely post reviews and anything that might help when I return. I've been trying to set up a meeting with Elena Damy, but I haven't been able to get in contact with anyone. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I can touch base tomorrow!

We are going to have our rehearsal dinner at Mi Casa, so we're going there for dinner on Saturday to confirm the space, pricing negotiations, etc. Plus I'm looking forward to a meal at Mi Casa, it's always delish!

We're also going to Edith's on Friday night for dinner, since we're thinking about taking our immediate family to dinner there for those that arrive early. Ediths' is by far my favorite restaurant in Los Cabos, and we couldn't get in over Christmas - they were totally booked! I guess word has spread so much that we'll make sure to have reservations from now on months in advance!

Thanks for the warm welcome, I'll be sure to post a visit summary!

Welcome! Good luck on your trip! I'm so jealous. I'd love to be on a beach this weekend. :)

Have you talked with Elena Damy at all? You mentioned that you were trying to set up a meeting with her, so I wasn't totally sure. The resort where we're getting married (Las Ventanas) recommended her & I emailed her for a quote late last week, but haven't heard back at all! Anyway, I'm definitely interested to hear how your meeting with her goes.

Elizabeth

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
