Invitation wording dilemma - Don't know wedding date!

Recommended Posts

Hello ladies,

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to word invitations when you don't know the date? My FI and I are having a civil ceremony in PV in a year or so, and we've picked the week we want, and the resort... But when it comes to the STD's and invites, is it ok to leave it as, "Week of January 16-23 2010"?

Apparently the judge will determine the date and time of the ceremony, based on his/her availability. That won't be until AFTER we submit the paperwork and pay the fees.

Any thoughts? Let me know if you need more information.

Note: We're getting married at the Decameron. We've already received the package from the wedding coordinator, Cesar Navarro. This is the information he provided about the civil ceremony.

Good question...I would love to know that answer!

FI and I are planning a week at the end of January 2010, but in Mazatlan!

However, the TA's say the travel books don't come out til April/May...and I would like to start my STD.

I've read in other threads that it's not proper to send out the week info until you have a specific date...but in certain situations I would have to agree that it is better than not sending anythinghuh.gif

I would like to know how you plan on wording this...

Any other suggestions?

I would only send out STD's if you feel you have to send out something more formal...

IMHO I would send out a friendly newsletter type note telling your loved ones that you are planning a DW and are looking at this week in PV. That you will send out STD's and/or invites as soon as the date is confirmed along with other information to coordinate their travel. There are tons of newsletter templates on this forum.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
