Best three AI for Wedding in RM

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone - I'll be traveling to RM next week and will be visiting some AIs as potential ceremony and reception sites (plus guest rooms) for a wedding in August 2009. (I know, I am sooo late...but I a work full time AND go to grad school at night...it's tough). I've received a few AI recommendations from friends/colleagues/family that have visited for vacation but no reco's for weddings. So, I decided to check with the experts...YOU!

-Can you please advise which 3 resorts are best for a beautiful, sophisticated ceremony and reception?

Do any of the resorts offer other ceremony venues besides the beach?

We are expecting ~85ppl and want everyone to feel welcome and have fun.

Any feedback is GREATLY appreciated!

Julie

I attended a wedding at The Royal in Playa del Carmen. This is an adults only AI though. Our friends got married on the beach, but I am not sure of their other locations. They were supposed to have their reception on the beach, but due to weather it was moved to Pelicano's which actually turned out better. I stayed for a week and had a fabulous experience. The food and service was great! I really enjoyed that the resort was so close to town and not completely secluded. That gave us the opportunity to walk into town to enjoy restaurants, shopping and bars. I know they have a kid friendly location accross the street, but I cannot remember the name. Happy planning!

Julie-

Most of the big resorts offer some type of wedding package but it really all depends on what you are looking for when it comes to the details.

I'm being biased here but Dreams Tulum was over the top fantastic! I would really recommend any of the Dreams Resorts. They have 3 standard packages that you can choose from and then add on pretty much what ever you want. Their service is impecable and I would almost go as far to say that "No" is not in their vocabulary.

There is a Dreams in Cancun, Puerto Aventuras & Tulum right now.

I have also heard great things about the Paridisus resorts as well.

Good luck and let us know what you decide when you get back

Thank you for the recommendations! I will start checking into them now. Hopefully we can visit Secrets Capri, El Dorado, The Royal, and Dreams. BTW - We are planning a wedding for adults only (and 1 13yr old cousin that will stay at another resort with her parents, if necessary).

Also, can you recomend any wedding planners for RM or are the WC at the hotels sufficient?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
