My husband just lost his job

In these days, the best thing your husband can do is network, network, network. Talk to everybody you know and let them know you're looking. If he worked with customers/clients; let them know too. Sometimes it's difficult for a man to reach out to others, because their job is part of who they are, especially, if they have a successful career. He'll need your support and love more than ever now. I know when my husband was laid off years ago; I sometimes felt he really wasn't looking to find something else (which, I know was not the case), but he just didn't want to take a job - just to have a job. We went thru another lay-off years later and I learned from that first experience. I even networked for him and people were very kind and helpful. It definitely brought us closer together the 2nd time around because my approach was better. :)

My hubby is on a short term layoff too till March. This happens every year, so it's expected, but it still sucks! Not only that, but he works in Toronto and we are living in Brockville now.

We had both agreed that he would stay working there till he found something here, but yikes, we didn't think it would take this long. There's nothing around here at all, not even Kingston/Ottawa in his field, so he's starting from scratch. So he's also thinking of going back to school now as well.

Blah. The economy SUCKS!

I am so sorry to hear about your hubby. I know EXACTLY how he must be feeling, as I was working with software as well and got laid off 2 months b4 my wedding in DR!!! Times are hard, but we told ourselves, we could be much worse off. Tell your hubby to hang in there and keep his head up (I know, easier said than done). Here's a dannce for u and him to hoping he finds a better opportunity soon bunny_4.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
