Menus & Decorations

I have 2 silly questions, well at least I think they are silly. I see a lot of brides have included menus with their invites. I was thinking about doing that as well but how do I go about doing that? Did you speak with the WC for your resort? Did you do a site visit? How did you know what to put on the menu?

 

 

Also for those who traveled with their own decorations, Did your WC set things up for you or did your wedding party or a few of your family & friends have to do it for you?

In terms of the menu, you should definitely be able to get that info from your WC. If the restaurant that you're having your reception at has 1 standard menu that is used for all weddings, then have her send that to you & you can use that in your invites. Also, do you know if the entree's will be served to each guest or is it buffet style? You may want to find that out & include that as well.

 

As for decorations, I gave all that I had to my WC & she set it up. However, I suggest having a backup plan especially if you have a specific vision for your day!

To make sure that nothing gets misplaced or forgotten, you should designate a reliable friend or family member to make sure that everything is set up as you instructed. This helps in case the WC drops the ball or forgets to do something that you wanted. When you're meeting with the WC to discuss details of your day, I'd have that backup person there at the meeting too so that they know what you want & how you want anything set up.

Some brides just take the menu cards down for table decor and to continue the theme. That is all info you should have from your WC. The only reason you would need to send a menu card out with invites is if you are having a served meal and your guests have to select an entree (beef, chicken, vegetarian)

 

JustUsTwo had great advice about having a back-up plan! I really regret not having one. It may also help to give your WC a list of written instructions when you give her all of your stuff.

okay now I understand the menu situation, I will find out the info on the restaurant. Also that's a great idea I will have my BM in the meeting with me thank you so much
