Calling all November 2009 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Oh Ashley.... i'm having the same drama... but with my MOTHER of all people. Yesterday I was telling her how a friend of mine was saying how a beach wedding would be so perfect and she chimes in... " well maybe for you it is" then proceeds to tell me how much of a financial strain and headache " all of this has been" REALLY?!?!? I'm so over the family drama. I never in a million years would think that a wedding of all things would bring out such selfishness in people!!!

n&n112109... I'm having similar problems with my MIL to be. She called last night to tell my fiance that she's found rates for $400 cheaper, and said she's going to cancel their tickets and book on this package... Then my fiance looked into it and found out if they did that, they'd be leaving for home on the day of our wedding! He managed to talk her out of it. But I was so pissed. Like, why is she still looking at flights prices anyway? And why does she feel the need to make him feel bad about the fact that rates were higher when she booked?? The rate could have just as easily gone up!

THEN he asks if we can send some stuff with them, and she was not impressed at all. Drilled him on what else we need to bring and made him feel like we're being unrealistic. Suggested we send extra stuff with his sister who is taking 3 kids under the age of 5!! Seriously?? Wtf?!

Then fiance is ticked at me because I'm ranting about his mother. lol. Grrrrrrr....

I'd be less panicked if my MOH had also not refused to take a bag for me, even though she gets two on her package and knows we only get one. She even had the nerve to tell me that she is only planning to take one bag! What is with people, seriously?!

Nicole I am actually wearing barefoot sandals for the ceremony and these really cute flip flops for the wedding. I'll have pics in my planning thread. I dont think you'll break ur neck but it may be hard to walk in them on the beach.

I'm in the process of packing up my stuff to send to my WC tomm. So I'm taking pictures as I pack. Some for my wc and most for my planning thread yay!!!

Melissa I love your bouquet although i can't offer any suggestions on what to do. How about you take it into to Micheals tell them ur dilemma and have them point you in the right direction.

I talked to my gma ab the situation with my bm this morning. And bc we're very close to her and her mom my gma said to call her mother and find out whats going on. Ultimately she is one of my best friends and I don't want to kick her out the wedding. But I really need to know what she's doing ab her alterations bc she cannot wear the dress the way it is in my wedding. It shows way too much cleavage and its long and all the other girls have shorter dresses. She was supposed to get it cut to knee length. The wedding is in exactly a month and a day (but we leave on Nov 6) and alterations take time.....

I left her a vm this morning so if I don't hear back from her tonight I will contact her mother tomm.

After the ceremony many couples wish to include a sand ceremony. This is a small ritual that symbolizes that the couple will be inseparable yet still retain their personal freedom just like each grain of sand.

Bride and Groom have their own vase with sand that they pour together into one only vase where the sand poured by each other is mixed and is one now.

You can use colered sand to identify each other and see the mixturein colors.

Some ministers provide the vases and sand, but you can also bring one that you like and prepare it with sand from the beach where you are staying. This step can also be a nice experience to share with your fiance or brides maids.

Perfect ritual for a beach ceremony!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
