Calling all November 2009 Brides!

Perfect timing for me to read up on this thread.... I ordered a garter but apparently it got lost in the mail because I didn't receive it. Which made me think I don't have any single people at my wedding so a garter and bouquet toss doesn't make sense. I don't think it's tacky at all not to have one....or at least I hope it isn't!

I don't think I'll do one either, like you all said, not many singles around to toss to. And I know that, as an unmarried woman at a wedding, I always found it horrifying to have to be put on display as single in order to catch a bouquet that I'll have to cart around the rest of the night, labelling me as unmarried. lol. I dunno. Just me.

Might put the garter on when we get back to the room anyway, just so FI can experience the novelty of it though. wink.gif

We finished packing last night, aside from our toiletries anyway. Feeling pretty good about things at this point, not too panicked, which I was expecting. A bit nervous about the mass waxing this evening though! lol

Holy smokes!! It's amazing how quickly we all will be leaving. We leave on the red eye Monday night.

I don't thinkit'll be tacky if you don't have a ganter/boquet toss. I'm not, but only 2 people there will be single... I think it would weird if I had one because of that. lol

I already have all the clothes packed. Need to pick up a few small items. Need to get a big purse since my dress will be my carry on, my FI will be carrying the cameras, laptop, etc. lol

Getting waxed and a pedicure Friday, gel nails on Monday.

Will more than likely do the planning thread when we get back.

Not liking the looks of the weather for next week for the area we are going to though. I hope it doesn't rain much. sad.gif

Are you carrying your dress in the dress bag? My friends think I'm crazy because I said I'm going to roll mine up and try to put it in a duffle bag. I hope it fits, I'll have to test that out. I told them worst case I'll use our vaccuum seal bags we use to pack for skiing....their mouths dropped! Just kidding of course, if it doesn't fit in a duffle i guess i'll carry it in the bag. I'm assuming it has to go through the security conveyor? That might be a little awkward.

I bought a garment bag that was big enough for the dress. It has handles at both ends of the bag so it can be carried and plus it has a locking hanger holder to keep the hanger in place.

They were from a company called Wally Bags. This is the one I bought: Wally Bags, Garment Travel Bag Supplier, Clothing Protector Bags, Nylon Suit Travel Bag

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
