Hi Ladies,

Im not a November bride, but October is close enough right?!? lol. Anyways I was having the same dilemma about the OOT bag, and I know I really won't have any room in my luggage for everything! So we decided that we would get everyone to meet at the airport a little earlier (before they check in their luggage). Thank them all for coming and give them their OOT bags before we all check in for the flight (so they have the option to put it in their suitcase or carry on). I guess this only works if your wedding guests are mostly on the same flight, like ours. We also have word books and pens in the OOT bags so if they want something to keep them busy on the flight, that is an option. Hope this helps a little :-) Good luck!

We're doing beach towels as our favors and we found one of our guests who has 1K status on United (which he is flying to Mexico), so we are going to pack a couple of extra bags or boxes for him to bring with him. I'm wondering if boxes will look suspicious to customs, though. It'd be easier that way, though, b/c you could just throw the boxes away once the towels are passed out!

HoosierFan, I did the same as you -- we sent out first wave of invites out (b/c we didn't have all of the addresses) in July, and asked for responses by Sept 15. That should give us time to do the final roundup and get numbers for the caterer.

We are doing a Welcome Dinner instead of a rehearsal. If people are going to make the effort to come out, we are going to have all of them at our pre-party. My FMIL has graciously offered to organize this event (thank you FMIL!), so I am not even thinking about it. I put a check box in our invitation response as to whether or not they will attend, so I will pass this info to her, and she can decide if she wants to send a separate invitation or not. I think she wants to, and that is fine by me. She is very excited about it, which is so nice. cat.gif

Hopefully when we get the majority of the responses, we can send out informational email blasts with the itinerary, etc. I'm trying not to worry about this too much! We did some calculations yesterday, and I think we will end up with ~45 people (we'll see how accurate our predictions will be), which will be a nice number, I think. This will be a ~50% of who we invited (maybe a little less).bunny.gif

I just mailed my invitations last week and requested RSVP for October 1st. For the most part, everyone that is going has already booked their trips. At this point, I don't really expect any more guests. I think I'm should have about 45 guests total.

The countdown is making me nervous!!

It hit me like a tonne of bricks yesterday that I'm less than three months away from losing my name. Of course, from the time I met Wes, I loved the named 'Hunting' and wanted it for my own. But with all the excitement of planning, I hadn't thought at all about the fact that I'll lose the 'Mandseth' name. It's slightly heartbreaking.

Don't get me wrong, I never was the sort of girl to keep her own name, or even hyphenate, but I think I may greive this loss a bit. I'm proud of my name, it's roots, you know? *tear*

I was thinking of a rehearsal dinner, too, but I think I'm just going to try to get the wedding party and family together the night before and throw some tables together at the buffet. A couple of my wedding party aren't arriving until the day beforethe wedding anyway, so it'll be a good chance to get everyone on the same wavelength before the big day without suffering a huge hit to the budget.

Im secretly happy to be losing my last name (feel bad for my dad though since he has all girls). But no one can ever spell my last name (or pronounce it). So I'm losing Wootton and gaining Perrin. Yay!

I'm not tied to my last name either but I'm not thrilled about being Mrs. Moose. Ok that's lie...I think it'll be a great last name!! As long as we don't name our son Harry :)

3 month countdown beging TODAAAAAYY!!

Times flying eh?

Less than 3 months here... 85 days left... sounds even closer. Oh, boy.

The rehearsal dinner is included with our package and also a private romantic dinner too.

I'll probably hyphenate my last name. I'm an only child, no other males on my dad's side had kids. So the family name will end with me, so I'm adding it to keep it somewhat going.

Edited to add as well: my grandfather didn't have any brothers either and his father was the same, so the name is really limited in our family. Though there maybe some others that may have the same last name as us, they're not related to us.

    • The cooking method can double the calorie content of a meal, so learn about healthy cooking without having to add extra fats, like using a steamer,  a rotisserie , a slow cooker , a pressure cooker, a grill. Once you cook your own meals, you can control the calorie content because your control the cooking method and all the ingredients. A lot of people are overweight because they keep eating food that they did not cook.
    • I have stayed at Dreams La Romana and Dreams Dominicus.  The two resorts are very different in style and decor. A few comparison points are below and fact sheets are attached for both.   Both resorts are approx 45 minutes from Punta Cana airport, close proximity to Saona Island, Catalina Island and Altos de Chavon. Top championship golf courses in the Caribbean are just minutes away including Teeth of the Dog, Dye Fore, The Links and La Estancia – all designed by world-famous Pete Dye. Restaurants are similar at both resorts.  Both offer the Explorers Club for Kids.  Dreams Dominicus  Brand new resort and in 2016 488 rooms (however additional construction was underway) More contemporary style & decor Good beach area Rooms were very nice Preferred Club located in main lobby and adjacent to main pool & beach front Food was good Center plaza area with nighttime entertainment Main lobby is small, but outdoor bar off lobby is nice Dreams La Romana Originally built in 2003 & opened as Dreams La Romana in 2008 756 rooms Recently renovated and new preferred club adults only lounge & pool added  Rooms are more traditional Caribbean decor Grounds are very lush and tropical Good beach area food was good    Dreams Dominicus fact sheet.pdf Dreams La Romana fact sheet.pdf
    • My sister has done it but with the destination wedding, only super close family members and friends came since it was expensive and farther. It was great though.
