Recommended Posts

I got the dress from Unique Vintage - Vintage Dresses, Homecoming Dresses, Prom Dresses, Vintage Clothing, Flapper Dresses, Prom Gowns - Vintage Clothing, Prom, Pinup dresses, Rockabilly dresses, Prom 2010, Designer :) $78! SCORE!

So I think FI fell upon the dress last night sad.gif He says he almost did, but closed the window when he realized what he was about to look at. I believe him, but part of me thinks hes trying to not upset me. Although hes been real adamant about not seeing it, so maybe he didnt.

OMG, I LEAVE IN 8 DAYS!!!!!!!!

How was your progress this weekend ladies?

We got FI attire, guest book, centerpieces (that Im still trying to figure out), and the ceremony done. WOOT! WOOT!

Wow, seriously down to crunch time, eh, ladies?? I managed to finish my DIY phrasebooks and got started on the favor tags for the sandalwood fans as well. Fiance has been wonderfully helpful now that he is done his masters thesis! He had his stag this weekend, so me and his best mans wife spent all of Saturday shopping. I may have gone overboard on honeymoon week lingerie purchases! lol. Oh well.

Love the new dress, Sgt Pepperette! Can't wait to see it on you!!

Am now just trying to organize myself and prepare for the AHR, which is a week after we return. Have figured out my centrepeices and ordered favors. It's a good start. Next I have to start going through my guest list and figure out who is all coming....

Melissa, I love the new dress!

Had a productive weekend... we picked up our bands. I begin stuffing the envelopes for our final mailing. Paid off the balance on our photographer. Picked out our pictures for our signing book. Mailed my thank you notes for my bridal shower gifts. Tonight, I am working on completing our welcome bag tags.

Mel-wow, everything looks great I can't believe how well it's all coming together! You are definitely the queen of DIY girl.

Love the new dress-the old one looked good but this one will fit your personality better and wow....it's super sexy too.

Amandseth: Don't try to take on too much - it's going to be perfect. I think guests don't even no all these little wedding details anyway. They'll just be happy to be on vacation for your wedding. And you're only going to have eyes for one thing on your wedding day and sounds like you've already decorated him lol.

What's everybody doing for make-up? I'm torn between doing my own or having it done. I have a really light foundation that should hold up under the humidity so I'm definately taking that. And I want to bring my own lip color for touch-ups. So I'll probably also bring my eye color. The problem is I'm not really that great at applying eye color. I never seem to get the accents right and I see the potential for some stress. But, I'm not sure if I want to have it done either.

I pulled some copper streaks through my hair (well, my stylist did) and it looks awesome in the sunlight. I have dark red hair so it just shines. I can't wait to see it on the beach. I'm taking a ton of sun protector for it though. I'll post a picture later.

We've been doing little stuff....bought gifts for the resort staff-just little stuff recommended on the resort's message board.

I ordered a couple of snorkeling kits since the resorts are limited use. They should be here soon.

We still need to put our music CD together and finish our vows. We may actually wait to do the CD until we get there and have our meeting with the wedding coordinator. We're bringing our laptop so it would be easy to just load it on the Ipod or burn a CD at that time. We've got 4 days leading up to the wedding so I think it would be fine.

The first 4 nights we're staying in a block of rooms next to our parents and my sister then moving to a beautiful room with a big balcony overlooking the Caribbean ocean on the wedding day. I asked my mom to get together with my sister and FMIL to do some decorating for us so when we go back after the wedding there are some special Intimate touches.

I've started taking pictures for my planning blog post. I'm going to put it here and also on my wedding website. I have a couple aunts that are really into keeping up on the progress since they don't live close.

Oh yeah, did I say we LEAVE IN 9 DAYS!

Deep breath.

I mean, I've only waited all my adult life for this.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
