Calling all November 2009 Brides!

Recommended Posts

I hear you, girls. I've got a dozen DYI projects that still have yet to come to fruition as well. Most of them are at least designed on my computer (that much I can do at work! lol!), but still have to be printed/laminated/cut etc, which is truly the time consuming part! I'm going to take a few projects to the lake this weekend and con my MIL and SIL-to-be into helping me out!

I leave in a month and am starting to get a bit panicky. Feel like there is so much left to do!! Will think of something then 5 minutes later forget what it was. So worried I'm going to miss something! lol

Spent over 100 bux yesterday on travel items (tide to gos, sunscreen, mini-hairspray etc), and found my guest book. Things add up so quickly!! And how the hell am I going to fit it all into one piece of luggage?!?!?! Lucky for me, a couple of our groomsmen are flying with an airline that allows you two pieces... I'll have to assign them each a bag!

As for the rings... I've got 5 days from arrival to when we marry. If it were less, I may risk the safe... if I put it on my right hand I'll never get it off (hand is slightly bigger and will swell in the heat). Might ask my MOH to wear them on a chain, since she is arriving the night before the wedding....

I know what you mean about feeling a bit scattered. Like oh I have to add this to the list, and this...oh wait what was I orginally adding? LOL

FI and I have created a master spreadsheet in google documents that we both check daily and try to get things done while we can. We are up to our 17th tab. LOL Im like wow how many tabs would it be if we were getting married here. This is just for 20 people!

That is helpful that you have people you can have carry luggage on for you. I worry about packing myself. We are driving down in a mini cooper and can barely fit us, luggage, and the dress! With your groomsmans you can save some money on luggage to :)

A spreadsheet is a great idea, but knowing my fiance, unless it's under his nose, he'll never even glance at it. He IS, however, a HUGE list maker... so maybe I'll make a list in thick black sharpie and post it on the fridge! Yeaaaaaahhhh... totally doing that when I get home!!!! Thanks for the brain wave!! :) (better add that task to my own list, otherwise I'll forget! lol)

We'll probably hold on to the rings ourselves. Much rather if it did get lost or something that it's us and not someone else...lol

Yeah, my FI didn't help very much... rolled 15 sheets of paper for my MIB... lol. I have asked for suggestions, but I might have gotten a response to 3... like type of cake, live music or CD for ceremony, and an agreement to digital frames for people...lol

One relief was that my MOH FINALLY found her dress last week... talk about last minute waiting. :P

And 2 more people have decided to come now... I have to double check when I get home to see if I have to order extra gifts (I ordered extra anyway, but I can't remember if I received 1-3 extra of certain things). plus re-submit the paperwork to the WC with the new information... no biggie there, but still a pain.

Lol, I hear you on that one Kiera, my fiance just polished off his Masters thesis a couple weeks ago, so I was pretty much on my own for the last year. He's finally been able to make some time for other things now, but mostly he's just stressing over what to get his half of the bridal party for a thank you gift. lol, oh well. To be honest, it's easier to just do it myself anyway.

Asked my MOH today if I could send some stuff with her, since she gets two peices of luggage (I only get one with my airline, she's on a different one). She told me she's only planning to take one bag, so if it fits in there, it'll be fine, and can I wait till she's packed and then we can talk about it. WTF?! Seriously?!

I played dumb and said, well if you are planning to just take one bag, can I send another with you? And commented that it would be a huge help.

I shouldn't be surprised by this. This is the same girl that backed out of planning my stagette because I couldn't accommodate either of the 2 dates she gave me as options, then told me she'd be leaving early from the party anyway.

It's a shame that I realize now, too late, who my MOH should've been.

LOL Keira, I keep having 'waves of excitement' too!

Time has flown by so quickly! I can't believe our big days are just around the corner!

On a side note, I did my BD shoot today. I was super nervous before hand, but the lady who did them was awesome and put me at ease right away. I'll be sure to post some teasers when I get them.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
