So, I'm sure you all have discussed this... but, I'm having the hardest time deciding on the attire of the groom and the two fathers (we aren't having BM or GM)... we had already told the Father's to wear tan suits and my FI wanted to wear a tux... so, that would mean tan and black... should I change what the Fathers are wearing? FI also would wear a suit but he doesn't want to wear tan... would navy look okay? I'm so lost on this.... I know most people are having the men dress more casual but my FI really wanted it to be more formal with him in a tux or something similar... help me!!!!!!

Do you all live close together? Maybe take a day and go to a suit/tux shop and try on different combinations. It might not look half bad to have you FI in a tux and the dads in a tan suit...you'll definitely be able to differentiate!

We're having the most mis-matched bridal party ever haha I've given up control and just hopes everyone has a good time!

Olsentco, try searching Penners online, that's where I got our grooms party shirts and they're great! Gonna match them with either some white drawstring pants or white tux pants. Casual, but authentic.

KristieF, SaltoCoach, MexicanaBride, we are date quadruplets!! :)

Is anyone encountering this issue??: My passport is expired, and I don't actually need it to get to Mexico, but everyone is telling me I should get it anyway. BUT, then I'm stuck for five years with a passport with my maiden name.. What to do? Not really worth the $$ to get it if I'm going to have to replace it, right?

Also, I've started my OOT bags, and I think they'll be great, but how do you all intend to get them there? Distribute amongst the bridal party??

Still need to book my fitting... sounds like about 6 weeks is standard??

This is creeping up so fast, feel nervous that I should be doing something I'm not. This just seems way too easy. lol. I know this was mentioned before, but its so frustrating not having solid numbers on the amount of guests to expect! Am having to overbuy on all my OOT stuff, just to be safe. If I wind up with extras, I'll post them for sale!!

No having solid numbers IS the hardest part. I feel like I have stuff to do (and I do) I just can't do any of it without knowing who/how many are going to be there. I totally know how you feel amandseth!

When is everyone's RSVP date so you can expect final numbers??

And about the passport...are you flying through the US or do you have a direct flight? Although you don't need one to get into Mexico I know US customs will require it so it might be a good idea to have one on you just in case.

Welcome Elena

We purchased our gm's attire about 2 weeks ago from Off the 5th (Saks 5th Ave outlet). They are wearing khaki colored linen pants and these beautiful (colored lol) green linen shirts. And we have to still get their sandals from Aldo. My Fi has decided to get his attire made. So he's meeting with the guy this weekend. He is getting and off white linen set hopefully with a colorless shirt and some silver accents (although I know I'm asking for alot with the silver accents). My girls all have the gowns (almost) my moh and bm have their gowns my jr bm and flower girl ordered their gowns on Wednesday. Bc I have 1 moh, 1 bm, and 1 jr bm I took them to david's showed them the color and the material (color clover material chiffon like my gown) and let them pick what they wanted. It was easier that way bc they are diff sizes and were able to get the gowns that best suited their body types. I love the idea of them not being matchy matchy.

I started the process of ordering my programs and menu cards from Ana De Roux. Does anyone have wording for reception programs/menu cards. I'm just trying to find the order in which the toast etc should go... I will check the traditions and programs thread....

OKAY!!!! Things are starting to feel pretty real right now. I just filled out a request form from Daniela this morning letting her know what i would like to have at the wedding. The next thing she'll email me is the final price.msncry.gif

Hopefully I haven't gone too far over budget. If I did...blush2.gif I really don't care!!!I have to say that my hardest decision was what type of cake to have. My dress only took 2 hours to look at, have a drink to think about, buy it and then walk out and buy a second one while walking out the door! I still have to get a nice topper though. Oh!! Here's a question for you all. Does anyone know where I can get crystal ribbon? I'm looking for at least 4 rows of crystal. I want to put it around the tiers of my cake.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
