Calling all November 2009 Brides!

Recommended Posts

We picked November because we were limited to November or December because my FI plays soccer and that's pretty much the only 2 months of the year he has off and any of his team mates could make it to the wedding. November worked better than December because we have some friends/family who work retail and would have a hard time getting off during the Holiday shopping season.

We also wanted to be outside and knew November would be a nice time of year in Mexico...

And now that November is getting ever so close I feel like there is so much to do! We did finally book our photographer though and flights so there are two BIG things off the list.

Does anyone feel like some stuff is just a waiting game to see how many guests you're going to have? For things like: OOT bags, menu cards, programs, etchuh.gif

we picked november for multiple reasons:

1. we wanted to go when its COLD in chicago...since our summers are so short here we wanted to enjoy our summer

2. We needed to do our wedding over a holiday when people have time off work.

3. We met on the 28th of May so 11-28-09 will be exactly 2.5 years since the day we met :)

4. TA told us November was cheaper than December/January and we wanted to get married in 2009 to have a bigger tax return (lol sad but true)

Can I ask you all a question.... Why did you choose to get married in November? That's a question I've been hearing every since I started planning.

We chose November the same reason I think someone has already said.. to have our anniversary date during the cold months of the year so we have an excuse to get away for it somewhere hot every year! We didn't want a decemeber wedding, cause travel is always more expensive in Dec, so that too helped in our decision. All we knew was we wanted to go somewhere hot when our weather back home was COLD! Cause we like to enjoy what little summers we get here in Canada as well!!!

Honestly, I chose November because I could take 2 weeks off work and not get bogged down with the catch up when I got home. Also, I chose the 11th because it's Rememberance Day. That way he has no excuse to forget when we got married! It only took him 6 years to remember my birthdaysmile116.gif. Hopefully, since it's a holiday he might have a shot at remembering it! But knowing him, he'll forget.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
