Calling all November 2009 Brides!

Recommended Posts

Oh Jess, I am so happy that you guys picked your spot!!!

So I know I mentioned that I found my dress on an earlier post in this thread, but I went to one more place this weekend and REALLY found my dress. My BM started crying and I even had a tear in my eye. I always thought that that was tv stuff until it actually happened. I am guess there was a reason I was procrastinating on the old dress.

I am so excited.

I also booked flights, photog and DJ Ricardo last week. Tomorrow my STD's will be done at the printer (I desinged, they printed and cut) and DIY crafting will begin. I am nervous and excited for my first DIY project. I think I might use the same printer to help with invites.

I had ordered like 45 samples and nothing was the right invite. I think I would just rather have something unique and semi DIY. Will post pics if I can.

Erika - the dress looks great! You are ahead of me. If you're shopping in Denver, I'd love to hear about your experiences as I'm doing the same!

I finished my boarding pass STDs the weekend before last and they went out a week ago. We've gotten great response, but after an entire weekend of "crafting", my fiance said, "We're never doing that again!". So, I guess we'll be ordering invitations after all!

Ha ha ha.. that is great about "ordering invites after all"!!! I am acutally laughing out loud! I think my fiance will be singing the same tune.

So the dress shopping:

I went to David's in park meadows and aurora. (much better experience at the aurora one 225 and Alameda, ask for Sarah, she knows her stuff).

I also had a very nice expericen at D'Aneli's in Lakewood (alameda and wadsworth) Anjelle was my consultant and she has been doing it 9 years and had a good eye for it.

I FOUND THE DRESS at Bea's Bridal Nook in Cherry Creek (6th Ave and Detroit) Emmi helped me there a few times and when the dress in the first pic came she called me and low and it was amazing. I have also heard amazing things about Bea's in house alterations.

I also went to Bridal Connections - kind of dirty /no help/ not so fond of it.

I did go to chicago twice to look at dresses so that is where i did the other half of my shopping.

Let me know how your experience goes.

BTW, where is Azul Fives?

Wow - reading this I have a LOT to do - everything in fact! I have been waiting on quotes from TAs about a Riu Ocho Rios wedding, but have heard absolutely nothing from anyone, including a note I sent directly to the hotel's wedding coordinator. I am getting a bit worried.

Also - do any Jamaica brides have any worries about November weather? Last year it was not so nice at that time of year. Are you recommending extra travel insurance to your guests, etc.? Any tips are welcome.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
