Flower Questions Need your help!

Recommended Posts

Okay I am losing track of time and only have 5 months till the big day and I haven't thought about flowers yet. I have some included in my package but I think I would to do artificial, maybe?

Questions...

1. For those of you who got your flowers through your resort, did you bring pictures for inspiration? Were you happy with what you got?

2. For those of you who brought down artificial flowers, where did you get them? Anywhere in the Midwest?

3. Hair flowers, any retail stores sell the real touch? Are they easy to make? If so does anyone have instructions? If not, where are good places to buy them?

Last one, I think

I am think of doing my bouquet, and bouquets for my 3 bridesmaids but not doing flowers for the groomsmen.

Did anyone else not do flowers for the groomsmen, if so was that okay?

Thanks so much!!

We did not do flowers for the men at all.

I had the natural touch flowers which I ordered through [a company]- but I don't think they would be able to fit you in b/c they take orders about a year out now it seems. However, there are numerous other online companies that you can order the natural touch flowers from - or check out stores like Hobby Lobby, Michaels, etc to see if they have flowers you like.

We transported our flowers in s separate suitcase that we checked and had no problems.

I made my own flowers before I went too! Just went to Hobby Lobby and purchased them 50% off and got some ribbon and green tape and they turned out awesome! I am really not too crafty but I didn't want to spend tons of money on flowers either. It actually wasn't too difficult either. I made my bridesmaid bouquets and DH's boutennierre. We didn't do flowers for the GM's though and it worked out great! Here is a pic:

Here are more of Betsy's, I think they are just silk flowers.

Most of the girls transporting there flowers, including us, put them in hard sided luggage so they don't get squished.

I don't know what your budget is, or if you have the time to make them yourselves. We have plenty of time so I was going to make ours thinking it would be cheaper, but it ended up being about the same price of ordering artificial, so I decided to save the time and pay to have them done w/ really nice real touch flowers. I'm ordering mine from Shavon fresh real natural touch artificial silk wedding bouquet flowers She has great prices! I'm ordering my bouquet, 4 BM, pomander for FG, 9 bouts (1 special for FI), 2 corsages, cake flowers, 7 centerpieces w/ glass vases. We're spending $698 which includes the shipping. So, if you were to have my flowers (for example) shavon would charge around $200.

Are you going to have a bout for your groom? I think GM's w/out would be ok, but the groom needs a little something special.

Some local flower shops do artificial, we have a few in our town, but they have been more expensive than ordering from AA, Sharon, Shavon, and so many others on the forum.

I know michaels carries some real touch, but a limited number of flowers. You can always check etsy.com there are lots of hair flowers on there, and alot of the designers will do a custom one for you.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
