Moon Dance Cliffs

Sparkles! Thank you and your parents SO much for the pictures are the great review! I feel as though I have a much better idea of the hotel and I am RELIEVED to see the progress of the resort! Maybe you guys can have your honeymoon there?! I have the same wedding colors as you, so I just emailed Kerry to see if she could send me some pictures of the napkins, lanterns, etc. that she showed your parents - I'm getting so nervous as the wedding date is getting closer and closer! Ahh! But also so excited! Thanks again for the sharing the pics and I love your Dad for taking so many great pictures!!! I noticed that in the picture of the Rockhouse he said that they walked there during the day - do you mind asking how long the walk took? We are having our rehearsal dinner at the Rockhouse and I'm just wondering how far away it is!

Thanks for everything! And keep us updated with your plans!!!

Hugs,

Claudette

Sparkles, I just realized that your parents will be staying at the Cliffs one week after your wedding, so probably not where you want to be honeymooning! wink.gif Hehe! We're still trying to decide whether we should stay at the Cilffs or venture to another hotel for our honeymoon. Do you know what property is next door to the Cliffs?

Thanks!

Claudette-

I just asked my Dad and he said that there is no way anyone should try and walk to Rockhouse. He's a little nuts and is not scared of anything but he said most people would never be able to do it. There are lots of shady people all along the road and he said once you get to Rick's that the traffic gets really bad, so you have to dodge cars lol. He said on top of that it was a really far walk. They took a cab ride at night as they did not feel safe walking the road at night. We are honeymooning at Moon Dance Villas for 5 nights after our wedding. So we will def be heading up to the Cliffs for a night to hang out with my parents and their friends and check it out for ourselfs. They are renting the 4 bedroom villa so that should be really nice. The place next door is Hide Awhile. I can't wait to see the pictures of your wedding...it's coming up soooo soon!

Hi Ladies,

Hope you guys are doing well!

Sparkles - Thanks for posting the pictures. Even though Iâ€m getting married at the Villas, it's nice to see what the cliff side looks like :-). I hope the planning at the new resort is coming along great. I'm sure you're day is going to be beautiful regardless of the place :-))).

Claudette - OMG, your wedding is almost here :-))). Howâ€s the final planning going? Are you almost done? We also have not decided where we'll be staying for our honeymoon. I heard there is a lot to do in Ocho Rios....but we'll see...

Sparkles - thank you so much for those pictures! It was a great help to see how things are progressing! Did your parents tell you anything about the front of the resort? I didn't notice pictures but I saw some on tripadvisor a few months back that were pretty scary!!! Does anyone know if this has improved?

Also, MDC mentioned that there would be "entertainment" at the resort. Does anyone know what kind of entertainment they are planning on having?

Sparkles-tell your dad thank you! I think it has put all of us a little more at ease. I wish I as there now!

SSleenyc-I was wondering the same thing about the entertainment...

I have MIA for a while-but it is good to be back! I did get our tickets for Jamaica and ordered my invites-a huge DIY...so we will see how sane I am after assembling them!

Hello everyone!! It's been awhile since my last post.. I've had a crazy month! Back to wedding planning! I finally heard back from Kerry after sending her our marriage license application and answers to her initial questions about what I wanted for decor, budget, etc. I realized how long it had been about a week ago, emailed her again and then never heard back from her! I finally emailed Miriam last night and then I got an email from Kerry with our wedding outline today (it seems like she disregarded the initial email I sent with colors, style). Looking back thru recent posts on the forum, it looks like everyone has run into this issue! Sounds like everything works out in the end.. I have to keep remembering that my wedding is still 13 months away and everything will work out in the end!

Sparkles... thanks so much for posting the pictures! It was a relief to see that the resort has come along and to get a better idea of the ceremony site and the reception area!

Claudette.. your wedding is fast approaching..so exciting!!

I forgot to ask... has anyone set times for the ceremony, cocktails and dinner? It looks like sunset is around 6:15-6:30 pm in May. I'm not sure if I have to decide this now but Kerry asked in her email today.

I was thinking of having the ceremony at 5PM, cocktails from 5:30-6:30 and dinner around 7? Am I completely off??

Thanks!

Sunset is at 5:23 on my date. They are suggesting a ceremony of 4:30 pm. that seems somewhat early but that is what they suggested.

I really wanted to have my ceremony at sunset -- but from what I am hearing that may cause problems with getting a lot of good pics afterward.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
