Thanks so much for info! I love the resort! Afraid it is a lot to ask for with guests but maybe we could put money towards the guests food? The non all inclusive price is so cheap compared to the all inclusive.....

Hi MDC Brides!

I hope you are all having fun planning your weddings!  I haven't been back to this forum in a long time and the new format change is great!  My wedding was actually at Moon Dance Villas in May, 2010 and I was wanting to post my wedding review.  Unfortunately, I can't seem to figure out the right spot to post it.  If anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it!

  • 2 weeks later...

Hello everyone!   My fiance and I are booked for a MDC resort takeover in late January 2012.

I have taken the entire evening to read through this whole thread and I'm excited to read all the reviews and suggestions, so thanks everyone!

I am worried about a few things--are the meals really only at set times?  Do all the bars really close by 11 p.m.?  When should I be confirming the florist/DJ/baker for my date?

Glad to be part of this, it's so relieving to see such good reviews!!

Heidi

Hi Heidi, My daughter's wedding was at MDC in Sept. 2010. Meal times were estb by the guests staying in the Villa. Our group had rented out all the villas, and based on the guests, meals were served at their request, though most were serve around the same times. The staff arrives daily around 8 and usually serves breakfast around 9:30.  However, one of the villas had the younger, late risers, and their breakfast was served much later in the day!

We did the AI plan, and the bartender was available daily until around 8or 9, but the bar was available 24hours. We reserved the DJ, florist and baker about 6 months before the wedding. We were unable to reserve the photographer of choice, so we decided not to risk losing the other vendors! Oneika, the wedding planner assisted us with these vendors and the day of the wedding made sure everyone and everything was in place.

Good luck in planning if you have any additional questions feel free to email me. MDC is a beautiful place and the staff went over and beyond to make sure our guests had a wonderful time and my daughter a beautiful wedding.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
