Moon Dance Cliffs

Did anyone else have a problem finding the thread? I had to do a search to find the thread---it disappeared!

I think I do my best work when I'm stressed...so I think I'll be good...hopefully my guests won't mind a very busy first day.

Hmm, I don't know about the thread - I normally just search for it right away!

Your guests won't mind! Then the stress of the wedding will be over and you guys can all relax and have fun! :)

Are you going to have a honeymoon in Jamaica?

My FI and are I trying to decide how much longer to stay for the honeymoon and whether or not we want to stay at the Cliffs or go to another hotel...thoughts?

I know me-and I stress out easily-so that wouldn't be enough time for me. But like Claudette said, you will have less time to owrry, and have more time to have fun and enjoy yourself!

We are getting married on a Friday, but are leaving on Monday or Tuesday. I was trying to persuade FI to stay at The Caves (Rockhouse is booked for the nights I want), but he didn't go for it...he also wants to hang out with his family...he said this wasn't our 'real' honeymoon', so it didn't matter. If we had more time, I would stay in Negril by the cliffs...

We aren't really doing a honeymoon, we are just going to come home and hang out like normal (we both are complete homebodies--we figure we could go somewhere later).

I emailed Kerry and she said that they have a ladder and access to cliff dive now (I specifically said access that isn't on another property--Tensing Pen). So it looks like they now have their own access.

They made these new little sub folders---I figured out where the thread went.

Courtney said everything looked good when he went, he seemed kinda suprised I guess cause he didn't know about it, I think he lives in Mobay. I am still waiting to speak back to him to see if he will go again with a camera and send me pictures.

Claudette – Noel emailed me back and heâ€s available on my date :-) :-). He sent me two samples. I still would love to see the one he sent you incase itâ€s a different one. My email is rebecca_darron@yahoo.com. Iâ€ll also forward you the two that I have once I have your address.

BTW, I did a search on “Front Page Band†and I came across Jenniferâ€s post on Trip Advisor. I messaged her with questions about the band and other things as well and sheâ€s been so so helpful! She really liked them and they did a great job at her wedding. She booked them through Moon Dance so she doesnâ€t have their contact info. I guess Iâ€m just gonna book them through MD but theyâ€re trying to charge me $1,000 when their Web site states $900. Jennifer also paid $900. Weâ€ll see if they can let me book them for that price. I know itâ€s just a $100 but every little bit helps…..you know.

Taovandel – I think youâ€ll definitely be okay if you can get to the resort around 1 or 2pm. My only worry would be if there is a delay or cancellation. Now, I donâ€t wanna make you nervous and I know the chance for that to happen could be very small but itâ€s always good to think of the possibility. Weâ€re getting married on Saturday but weâ€re getting there on Thursday. My FI wanted us to have enough time just incase such things happen. At first, I didnâ€t agree with him….but he kept mentioning Murphyâ€s Law and I was like Okay…weâ€ll just go on Thursday…lol.

Mastistyle – I love your idea for OOT bags….really cool! I also wanted to share the bag that I found online with you and all the ladies and see if you guys like it. Personalized 8 x 5 x 10 Frosted Poly Gift Bags

Wish you all a great weekend!!!

I spoke to Courtney and he said he will go back in a week or two and take pictures for me and I will post them when I receive them he also gave me tour information if anyone is interested.

rydm - Those bags are nice and I am going to keep them in mind thanks for the information. I also like the Gable Boxes at OrientalTrading.com, I'm not sure if my guest will use a canvas bag later and the paper bags or boxes are easier for travel and cheaper for me, LOL!

Mastistyle - I spoke to Courtney in detail I will PM you what he said.

Taovandel - I think you will be fine as long as you have everything planned out before you go and try to stick to you r plan. Me FI are always traveling, it only made sense for us to do a DW and we like to entertain so we are going Thur. to Wed and we don't mind if guest stay cause we aren't looking at it like a honeymoon, we'll probably just lock ourselves in our room for a day or two to rest after the wedding on Sat.

Claudette - I really like Rockhouse Hotel I may do a dinner/welcome party there Fri night and I like that it's not too far. I kind of was thinking we should have booked there but when I looked at it for the wedding it was something I didn't like but can't remember what. I also checked out Brian Nejedly's site, looks good, how did you find him and is MDC ok with you booking him? I kind of got the impression you could only use Saab or Sungold. I'm trying to sell FI on the TTD idea but not even sure if I will be willing to do it, I'm a black girl and already worried about hair issues, LOL! Can you do it and not get your hair wet?

I received pictures of the chairs...

There were three pictures...

One was a metal chair (This is the chair that the chair covers would go on)--They look like your standard metal chairs (remind me cafeteria chairs or something--or the ones that wrestlers hit each other with! lol!)

Then they have white wooden chairs (The type you normally see at destination weddings--that you can attach things to the side of the chair).

And then they had like plastic lawn chairs (Looked really cheapy).

I'm going with the white wooden chairs--they looked really nice.

I have no idea how to attach pictures. So I'm no help!

big3n09 - I think you can do it without getting your hair wet. Some brides also just ware a simple white summer dress and do the TTD the day before their wedding......that way....even if their hair gets wet; theyâ€re getting it done the next day for the wedding anyway. BTW, Iâ€m interested in the tour info he gave you :-). Thanks a lot!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
