oops, I meant to add that I actually picked my flower bouquets and center pieces from pictures I found online and I emailed Floral Fantasy the pictures of what I wanted the bouquets, boutonnieres and centerpieces to look like a year before the wedding. She responded and said she could make it happen and then we didn't communicate until I put the deposit down and then we emailed a few times when the wedding was a couple months away.

I would like to know this as well.  Currently I'm still deciding as to where I want to go for my wedding it's a toss between Barbados and Jamaica.  The airline discount would help tremendously.

I will first start off by saying that I have never posted on any blog before but I felt the need to post here. I used this site a lot to help me plan my amazing wedding and figured it was only fair to post all of my feedback too!

We just got married on Saturday 2/23 at MDC. We did a full resort takeover and had extra guests at RockHouse. Total of 74. The first thing I will say. Is totally relax. You will not be disappointed. Everything at MDC is perfect. I am writing this from my iPad in a hammock in Jamaica right now. We made the poor decision to leave MDC and go to couples swept away for 4 days after the wedding. Not that couples is not amazing but it is hard to go from MDC as the bride and go anywhere. I promise to posta full review with photos when I get back but feel the need to just tell everyone to RELAX. I was nervous too but it will be the experience of a lifetime. I cried when we got to couples because I missed all the people atMDC so much!

Please feel free to send me a message if you have any questions or concerns. I will gladly help if I can. But one last thing- if you are on the fence about wedding venue- don't be- I have seen a couple other ceremonies at other Jamaican venues and I promise you this is the best!

Promise to write more soon and very jealous of all you MDC brides to be. Lucky!

Congrats, and I'm glad everything worked out for you.

My main advice is to to just enjoy the entire time, know that it will all work out and let yourself have fun with your friends and family. Everyone has told me how much fun they had, we did not hear one negative comment from any of our guests and we had 76 guests at the wedding. Every single room at MDC was reserved with our guests and we had 11 guests say at other properties. The service at MDC is ridiculous. They go above and beyond to make sure you and your guests are taken care of. I could not have dreamed of a better time. I'm still in awe of how well everything went and what a good time we all had. When you are there you quickly learn that the staff's number one priority is to help make sure your needs are met and your having a good time. The food is delicious and the drinks keep flowing. The quality of the resort tops any other all-inclusive I have ever stayed at. If you have any questions let me know but I can tell you that our flowers were gorgeous (Floral Fantasy), the DJ was very good (Sound Illusions), our photographer was spot on (Clayton with WPA) and our band was the hit of the party... I would recommend them to anyone in a second, we got so many compliments on how good they were, our guests danced the entire three hours that they played. The band is the PACE Band and I would hire them again in a second!!!

Also, I did use the spa at MDC for my hair, my seven bridesmaids hair and two other family members. They did all 10 of our hair quickly and nicely. I would say that I've seen better wedding hair styles before at high end salons but I thought they did a good job overall on the bridesmaids hair and I actually loved my hair. None of my bridesmaids had ideas on how they wanted to do their hair so they just did it but I think if you have a picture of what you want (like I did) they will do a great job matching it. Also, I had my makeup done and it was good, not out of this world but I was satisfied and received many compliments :)

Let me know if anyone has any specific questions!!!

Good luck and congrats to all the upcoming brides.

It sounds like your day turned out exactly how you envisioned.  Wishing you a lifetime of happiness.

The airline deals are helpful very helpful in cost! For your destination choice find your dream venue then go from there. I can explain the airfare discounts to you and send you the links. Are you working with a TA?

Hi Cherina,

No I'm not working with an agent but if you could inbox me or email that would be great.  It's so confusing because I live in Baltimore which has non stop flights to Jamaica, and Barbados does not.  Argh decisions ...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
