LaraJo---so jealous that you have FREE transport to and from the airport!! When did you book?  They have quoted me as $80 each way for airport transfer, with a maximum of 4 people splitting the cost!  I was really hoping it was free (like every other all-inclusive in the Caribbean), because I don't want my guests to shell out cash the very first second they step on the island.

Jacki--same question....when did you book?  I am all-inclusive, too!

Lisa--I looked for other bands, kept running across "Hiyah Grade" and "Indigo band" on other threads, found a few YouTube videos.  Also looked for mento bands as entertainment for a different day, but the old men I liked on YouTube may have thrown in the towel by now!  cheesy.gif

Anyway, I just gone done booking Kevan Stewart (DJ Vaun) as the DJ for the reception!  I am thinking of having the band play for the welcome party the night before.  I'll wait for LaraJo's demos to come thru on a PM before I make that decision though!

I am so glad to have your ideas/support/info, I can't thank you guys enough.

I also e-mailed the florist, and she is already running through a bunch of ideas with me!  This is so exciting !!

HMM - I booked in October or November of last year and am doing the AI at Moon Dance Villas. My FI and I went for a site visit in January and they did NOT include the transfers which I thought was really REALLY cheap of them considering we will be dropping major $$ on a wedding, but it is what it is. Aside from that, the stay was amazing!

As for the band, Oneika, the coordinator at the villas, also said that a DJ would be better for a younger crowd which is why we booked the reggae band for the rehearsal. We have a mento band booked for the first night guests arrive as we are having a "meet and greet" cocktails and dinner. I don't know the name of the mento band, but I really only need them there for some background music and to give my guests a sense of traditional Jamaican music. I thought it'd be a nice touch. I don't know the name of the mento band, but trust Oneika's judgment in this regard. As for the DJ, we went with Sound Illusion and met Paul Dilworth while we were in JA.

We're using Floral Fantasy for our flowers and I'm waiting on a mock up of our centerpieces. I've seen their work on some other websites and it looks much nicer than what they have on their website which seems like it could use some revamping. Who have you been in touch with??

I'm going to PM you now and hope that the clips attach without too much trouble.

HMM - I just checked my confirmation from when my FI and I went to MDV this past January. The transportation to/from the villas was $60 each way. MDC is about 10 minutes away from the villas (further from the airport) (http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&tab=wl), so there is absolutely no way they should be charging you $80!! And I don't know why they'd say a max of 4 people when the van that picked us up was just that - a full sized VAN. You can easily fit 6 people, even 8. 10 would be a bit of a squeeze.

Hi Everybody!!!!

I just got back from the wedding and honeymoon.  I have sooooooooo much to share, but no time right now.  Just want you all to know that everybody says how "perfect" everything turned out.  And I'm here to tell you that my wedding was AMAZING!!!!!!!

I just wanted to chime in on the conversation about airport shuttles.  The cost is $80 (1 - 4) people and $20 each for 4+.  The vans are large and they will fit as many people on the vans as possible.  We had them add $50 ($25 each way) to our guests' bill and we covered the rest.  We had people coming in alone and some shuttles full, but it worked out for everyone.

I'll give you guys all the details....I can't wait to share!!!!

I'm not sure that MDC is up on the latest technology (airbrushing), but the makeup artist there is FABULOUS.  His name is Ross and his work is AWESOME!!!!  I spent over $300 on makeup and brought it with me, but I wish I had just used the staff at MDC.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
