I saw that yesterday...made my heart sink a little...I'm hoping this was just a 'fluke' and all other weddings will go off with no problems...and based on other bride's reviews, I'm sure this is the case. I just tell myself to relax and everything will be beautiful. Crossing my fingers for you, LBCS, can't wait to see pics/stories from your wedding...it will be here before you know it!!!!

I would if I were you...can't hurt. Plus, that's her job as a WC! Please share the reassurance she provides to put everyone at ease :)

I wouldn't worry TOO much about it. One of the things that stuck out in her review to me is that she was concerned about the food choices for children under the age of 6 not being available. Moon Dance Cliffs is very clear on their policy for children under the age of 13 not being allowed on property. After having been there last year, the reason for this is clear to me - it would be SO easy for a kid to wander over by the cliffs and fall in, there is no safety railing. I can't understand why she would have young children there when it is so potentially dangerous and why they allowed her to do so. Of course they don't have a kids menu - kids aren't supposed to be there! My assumption is that if she's willing to neglect that detail, there may also be many other details she didn't mention in her review that may explain her other complaints. (Except the jacuzzis - which from my understanding have been an issue since the beginning. They didn't work when we were there, but it was the weekend before their grand opening... i assumed they would be working by now.)

She may have some valid complaints, I'm just saying that I wouldn't put too much stock in one review by one person. Let us know what Kerry and Linus say!

Still nothing from Kerry and Linus....

Mallory57, thanks for posting the DJ info. We booked him yesterday! Great deal and I think it will be totally worth it so that we don't have to worry about downloading songs at the last minute!

No problem! We are going to put a deposit down with him as soon as he puts a contract together for us. Please share a review after your wedding!!

So I did hear back from Kerry. I was happy with her email and she does seem pretty organized as far as everything we have planned for the 3 day wedding weekend. So I feel better!

She told me there was a wedding this past Wednesday and another one this weekend. So hopefully those brides are on here and will post. Please let us know your experiences and what you are happy you did and what you wouldn't do again and pictures!

Hi Ladies! To further ease your minds, just wanted to share an e-mail I received today from Randy. It was a nice gesture from him to reassure me, as I hadn't even sent anything expressing my concern as lbcs had. I know all of our weddings at MDC are going to be beautiful and just as we dreamed :)

Mallory,

Like most resorts, we monitor the web sites where we are periodically reviewed, like Trip Advisor, Best Destination Weddings, and others. And we've noticed some concern out there regarding the recent review by aperry79. Since we cannot post on BDW, I just wanted to reassure you that what happened that day was a fluke.

We've done hundreds of weddings without a ceremony with such problems, and we will go thousands more without it happening again. Basically it was a strange confluence of events that occurred that day, some under our control, others not; and we've taken steps to ensure that they are never repeated. Among those steps is the creation of a new position at Moon Dance, tentatively called Event Director. He/she will not only facilitate weddings, but will manage day to day amenities like music around the resort, special menus from the kitchen, and contests and games. He will not replace the coordinator or the concierge, but will help both. Perhaps most importantly, the Event Director will be personally responsible for ensuring that each wedding goes off without a hitch.

So, please be assured that Moon Dance will execute your wedding with grace, style and professionalism.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
