Thanks to everyone for such a warm welcome! We have a very small party going down from Canada and Scotland. My sixteen year old daughter will be walking down the aisle with me. Invites/announcements went out a long time ago, all documentation is complete, passports in order, dresses have been bought, I still have to buy a tiara and veil, I bought everything I need to make my "message in a bottle" thanks yous for our guests, we are hiring the photographer down there and we have picked our restaurant for the reception. The video taping prices are a little steep, so we may just do that with our own equipment. I am bringing some of my own reception decorations. We will be hiring the mariachi trio for our reception. I am busy collecting picture samples that I like, to show our photographer. My daughter and I will be going for a makeup trial at Mac's, and a hair trial once I get the tiara and veil. I am a little frightened to have someone do my hair down there, but I think I am going to do it anyways. We are making some cd's of music right now and last minute arrangements, like the shuttle to and from the airport. Most of our decisions get made down there - I am really not stressed in the slightest. BUT, ask me a month from now!lol

Even though I have a daughter, this is my first wedding, so I am very excited and extremely grateful for all of the help and suggestions from these forums! Talk to you all soon,

Laura (Ontario, Canada)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
