I need some advice. I'm just wondering how you went about letting everyone know about your DW? We aren't planning to get married until April 2010 but I want to let everyone know now so if they need to save money they have lots of time. When we go to actually book our trip our TA told us we'd need rough numbers as well. I'm just really confused about what's the best way to go about this!!! HELP!

I think it would be fine to send out Save the Dates with just April 2010 on them just to give people a heads up. April 2010 really isn't that far away! My wedding is October of this year. At the end of this past July (15 months prior), I had a date confirmed so I started letting my family and friends know by word of mouth and email. I wanted them to know as much in advance as possible. I sent out Save the Dates in November (11 months before). Most people have been able to give me a verbal yes, no, or maybe. You might be able to give your TA and resort a general idea even without sending invites, even if it's a wide range like 30-50.

I agree - send the STDs with just the month! That gives them the "heads up" so they can save. Also, know that lots of people will say "yeah - we will come" but when it comes down to booking, they wont have the money, time, etc. I dont know what the percentage is - I think it depends on how many you invite.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
