I know some similar threads are out there, but I had a more specific question.

Can anyone tell me the difference between a bra/slip undergarment from David's Bridal (tried one on and it was amazing, especially since I am large-chested) and the Spanx than everyone talks about?

They seem to be about the same price, but are the Spanx as good for a large-chested woman as the David's Bridal type garment? I am pretty trim below the chest, so I'm not too worried about "flab control," however, I want something extremely supportive up top, but still comfortable.

Any help would be appreciated!

which bra/slip did you get from davids? They have a couple different things you could be talking about. Spanx has bras, but are mostly know for shape wear, to keep in everything and to smooth out your body. They don't have any full body w/ a bra, they have bras but not strapless. They do have a strapless cami.

The garment I tried on was this:

David's Bridal - Accessory 7643WHITE Smooth Seamless Long line Bra.

And they showed me this, which I was thinking about getting if I end up buying a chiffon dress:

David's Bridal - Accessory 1123WHITE Strapless Bra with full length slip.

If anyone has other thoughts/suggestions, I'd love to head them. I am a D cup, and I need all the support I can get!

Well, I purchased the one that you tried on, they both are made of memory foam and I don't recommend them. I was a D cup when Started, but now I'm a DD (SUCKS!!!) but once you wear the garment for a while, the memory foam gets warm and starts to slump down! So especially if you're having an outside wedding, you're going to get warm and your boobs will just start to sag! I'm on the search for finding a great undergarment that works amazing, without breaking the bank! I'm headed to a really nice bridal boutique this week cause the owner thinks she has just the thing for me. i will keep you updated w/ what I find. Sounds like we're same body type. I'm a small short girl, w/ big tatas, and I really don't like them I could do w/ a B cup!!!

Jacilyn, you are my hero! PLEASE keep me updated on what you find.

I had a feeling that David's Bridal might not be the place for this kind of thing. I really need support that will not fail!

I HATE my D (and for part of the month DD) size... I would LOVE to be a large B or small C. It makes finding clothing and bras so very hard.

I would check out a serious lingerie shop-- not Victoria's Secret or most department stores -- and get a professional fitting done. Here in Atlanta we have Intimacy but I'm sure there are other places that are similar. Then you can find something that fits you perfectly. Before I got a reduction, I had thought I was a 36DD but I was really a 32G!

I am the same .. D/DD.. depends where I am shopping. I got a AMAZING strapless corsett from a super nice shop in cherry creek called Sol. I am planning on heading back there soon for undergarment for my dress.

They even alter what they sell you to fit your dress perfectly.

I will post when I get info from them.

i will definitely keep you updated!!! What kind of dress do you have? Mine is sheath and runs right down my body so I can't even have anything w/ ribbing, cause it shows!

I just bought the dress on Saturday (yay!).

It's satin, but lightweight, with only two layers to the dress. I will have to avoid ribding, as well.

On another note, I bought my dress at David's Bridal and this was my second trip there to try on dresses. The first time, the long line bra I was wearing was totally fine, didn't warp (I wore it for three and a half hours). But this time, the bra I was wearing began to crease and warp at the bottom, like you mentioned. The top was still fine, but warping at the bottom could be seen through the dress!

I'm wondering if Nordstrom might have something well made?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
