Please help me pick my shoes!

Recommended Posts

Help! As most of you know, I have 2 wedding dresses because I changed my mind on the first one. Now, I'm having the same trouble with shoes, except I have THREE pair!

#1 This is the pair I originally bought. This is also the pair my dress has been hemmed to fit. They are really comfortable and classic.

#2 This is the pair I totally copied from Jessalyn! They had more of the beachy style I wanted, and she found them for me on Ebay for a better price. They fit great and are really cute. However, they do make noise when I walk, so I'm not 100% sure...

#3 Then, Jessalyn posted her first shoes for sale and I saw these. This is the pair I originally wanted, but couldn't find them anywhere. I first saw them at Nordstrom and they sold out before I could buy them. I didn't know what they were called & didn't have a picture, so I had no way to find them. When Jessalyn posted them we talked about it and she found them online for me. Cheap! These have the "bling" I was looking for, and are the color I wanted. But, these are 3" heels and my dress is hemmed for a 2" heel.

Sooo....I don't know what to do! I like all three of them for different reasons, so I'm totally undecided about what to wear!

Here's a pic of the purse I bought. I'll carry it as a clutch without the chain.:

And, for reference, here's my dress...

Sarah first and foremost.. DAMN GIRL your waist looks so tiny in your dress.. :-)

I say no to #3, because if your dress was hemmed for a 2 inch heel then you don't want it to look short. So that leaves 1 & 2, I love #2, but if you think the noise will bother you then go with 1

Aww, thanks Tammy!

See- I do the same thing when I think about these shoes...I keep leading back to #1. But I don't want to wear #1! Seriously, I need to stop looking at stuff once I buy. I had to totally quit looking at dresses otherwise I'd end up with 3 of those too!

i voted #2 because you seem to really like them. and really, will you hear the noise as you're walking down the aisle? and i am guessing you tested them out on a hard surface, but you will be walking on sand, right? it will muffle the noise.

i have to admit though, 1 and 3 aren't bad - i love the bling of #3 and the classic-ness of #1. touch call! (me = indecisive)

I saw wear whatever is the MOST COMFORTABLE! Wear them around the house doing chores for at least an hour and see how your feet feel at the end. Your dress is long so hardly anyone will see the shoes but you will care if you are in splitting pain an hour into your wedding. They are all cute! Esp #2 :)

I couldn't vote for the fact that I love all 3! You have some great ideas! And totally remade me think my shoes (similar to #1) LOL

And I forgot what your wedding dress looked like... so thanks for posting. I need to bookmark that photobucket account with all our dresses. You look gorgeous in it. All 3 of those would work with the cute purse too. Such a toughie.

I agree go for the comfort factor.

I would say that # 1 fits more with the style of your dress - But I'd lean towards #2 because its unique and different - in a way it symbolizes the uniqueness of your wedding i.e. destination. Plus its fun to wear something flirty that no one will really see until you guys do the garter toss (if that's what you want to do).

Haha Sarah! You're making me laugh! I vote for #2 because they are super cute and they are comfortable (and I'm wearing them too). I like the bling on #3 but from experience they are not very comfortable and they might be too high for your dress. I don't think you'll hear the clank of the shells too much when you walk down the aisle for a few reasons a) your dress will muffle the sound B) you're not going to be walking in silence...they'll be some sort of music as you walk, right? c) nobody is going to be listening to your shoes, they'll hear the ocean over your shoes.

#1 is classic and pretty and would be nice too, but they don't quite have the beachy feel that #2 has.

I'm assuming the ebay shoes came okay and were in good shape? can't wait to hear what you decide!

By the way, did I mention you have great taste in shoes? wink.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
