Hmmm... I have you looked at hiring a photographer to travel with you to Costa Verde? I'm sure there are tons of photographers who would offer to go to such a beautiful place and take photos for you.

And for the band... yeah, that's a hard one! Sorry.

You may have a difficulty to find local photographer but I'm sure that you will find easily photographer (even in NY) who will travel to your wedding. Just find your favorite photographers and ask for a quote. I know that March is not the busiest time and you should be able to find good photographer in $4000 - $5000 range with travel included.

You may PM me if you want m to post your date on Wedding Photography Forum and get some more quotes.

Best,

Anna

Hi Anna,

I too have scoured the internet for Costa Rica photographers (I'd rather spend money on actual photography, not flights!). The best I've found so far is http://www.comfortstudio.com/. Julie has contacted me via email, and she seems very very nice. I believe packages start at $1000 and go up to about $4000.

As far as bands go, you may want to contact your hotel. My hotel manager is arranging a Calypso band for me that is apparently fantastic, but i never would have discovered them on my own.

Good luck :)

We reeeaaaaaaaaaaaalllllly don't want to spend more money on the photographer than on the reception, ceremony, dress, flights, and flowers combined. This is a very low budget wedding, so flying someone to Costa Rica isn't going to fit into our budget. Plus, I can't imagine there isn't other photographers out there in Costa Rica. This is just kind of stressful so close to the wedding.

Hi Anna,

Just to clarify, that photographer I linked is in Costa Rica, and if you email her with an approximate amount you want to spend I'm sure you could work something out.

The band at my wedding is going to be $300. I think that's pretty decent, but I would definitely be inclined to ask someone who lives in Costa Rica about that sort of thing.

Also, there actually are quite a few other photographers in CR. Go to this site: CrawlWall Monitoring Service CWMSZZ-3494899496 and scroll down to where it says "Costa Rica Photographers - More Listings" (the stuff higher up on the page is just advertised sites that are no good).

Some of the sites listed there are not for wedding photography, but if you go through them all you should be able to find something. A lot of sites don't list their prices, but if you email them for a quote definitely include your budget and I'm sure most photographers will find something that works.

If you could give some more details, like how much photography coverage you want, and what kind of band you prefer (and even your budget if you're comfortable) you may get some more helpful responses. Good luck!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
